“He Did It” – Brown takes the People’s Seat – Seat him Now (videos)

Taking the country back – seat by seat

“Brown addressed a cheering crowd in Boston around 10:30 p.m., telling his exultant backers: “They can hear this cheering all the way in Washington, D.C.”

“I hope they’re paying close attention, because tonight the independent voice of Massachusetts has spoken,” Brown said, holding up a copy of the Boston Herald with the headline: “He did it.”

And to the terrorists:  “Our tax dollars should be spent on weapons to defeat them, not lawyers to defend them.”

And to Obama:  “Do you want me to drive the truck down to Washington, D. C. so you can see it?”  🙂

Awesome Video!

“They will not force us.  They will stop degrading us.  They will not control us.  We will be victorious.”

(Background music, Uprising from Muse – see full lyrics at the bottom of post.)

Christie takes New Jersey, McDonnell takes Virginia, and Scott Brown takes the “people’s seat” in Massachusetts.

And this ain’t “below the Mason/Dixon Line,”, people,  as Chris Matthews is so fond of saying when he wants to cast disparagment on “We the People” as being a bunch of racist numbskulls.

The Silent Majority is speaking, and at the ballot box where it really counts.  Washington, are you listening?

The paranoia is in bloom, the PR
The transmissions will resume
They’ll try to push drugs
Keep us all dumbed down and hope that
We will never see the truth around

Another promise, another scene, another
A package not to keep us trapped in greed
With all the green belts wrapped around our minds
…and endless red tape to keep the truth confined

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious

Interchanging mind-control come let the
Revolution take its toll if you could
Flick the switch and open your third eye, you’d see that
We should never be afraid to die

Rise up and take the power back, it’s time that
The fat cats had a heart attack, you know that
Their time is coming to an end, we have to
Unify and watch our flag ascend

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious

100 million is “Drop in the bucket” – no kidding!

President Obama acknowledged Monday that his call to cut $100 million from the federal budget represents a drop in the bucket, but he insisted that the small savings will eventually add up to a lot and that it will help address what he called a public “confidence gap” over government spending.

He said, “$100 million here, $100 million there, pretty soon even in Washington it adds up to real money.”

This short video is a must-see illustrating just how little it really is in the big picture.  He thinks he can just put out a number starting with 100 and all the little peasants will think he’s really done a great thing.

Thank you, 10000 Pennies., for the video. [H/T Laree]

I sure do agree with that.  A drop in the bucket.  And this after pushing the stimulas package and the omnibus bill through in which even one of the little “porky projects” amounts to much more than that.  For example:

*$246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film.  Almost any one of these projects would equal or exceed the $100 million that will be saved by the piddling amounts saved by either the Homeland Security Department buying in bulk, or the Department of Agriculture combining a few offices into one, or saving on computers, et cetera, and even these projected savings will take five to 15 years to even be realized.  This would have been fine if it had not come on the heels of the spending spree that has already come down.

$100 million is the equivalent of 402,000 iPods, or 2.16 million barrels of oil, or about 4,500 Toyota Prius cars. (That may sound like a lot, but Obama recently announced plans to buy 17,600 American-made, fuel-efficient cars for the government fleet.)

Talk about robbing Peter to pay Paul. It is really insulting.

Get ready for more tea parties on July 4th.

Tax Day Protest in Ocala, Florida

Marion County residents converged on the downtown square from all directions Wednesday. Their signs were as different as their demographics: senior citizens stood next to young adults, housewives and businessmen on lunch break.

But the message spoken, and occasionally yelled, at the United States government during the Ocala Tea Party was the same: stop tax increases and outrageous spending.

Floridians protest pork and spending at Tea Party in Naples

tea-party-naplesThousands gather during the first of two Naples Tea Parties on April 15, 2009 at the corner of US-41 and Pine Ridge Road in Naples, Florida. Residents gathered to protest government bailouts, excessive national debt and perceived efforts to socialize services and businesses under the federal government.

Insisting the day’s events were not politically motivated, Joanne DiCarlo said, “I don’t care who they are – Democrats or Republicans. We should vote them all out.”

Asked if she protested last year when George W. Bush was president, Joanne DiCarlo stiffened.

“I hate when people ask that because it makes it seem that this about politics,” she said. “It’s not. It’s about not tolerating unresponsive government anymore. Republicans and Democrats alike are rapidly encroaching upon our individual liberties. These enormous, bloated financial programs are placing a crippling burden on America’s future. I think George W. Bush was financially irresponsible, as well, and I called, faxed and e-mailed him to tell him about it, so I don’t want people trying to make it out like it’s all about Obama.”

Standing alongside U.S. 41 as thousands of cars whizzed past, with many drivers honking their support, Michael Joyce of Naples said he felt the need to speak out because he was “scared to death about what’s going on.”

“I’m a retired educator, and not your typical one,” the Long Island, N.Y., native said. “This is the first time I’ve ever demonstrated, and I’m 63, pushing 64. I think the quiet conservatives like myself, the quiet majority, has to start expressing themselves. It’s unfortunate the news media isn’t doing this for us. This (protest) wasn’t even mentioned on the main liberal channels.”

Regardless of their personal motivations, outrage was the unifying factor as hundreds of Southwest Florida residents gathered with signs and tea bags, chanting slogans like “Vote ‘em all out!” After an hour of stump speeches, petition signing and a break to vote for the best signs, the people gathered at Fleischmann Park in Naples took their tea bags and dumped them into a small pool of water poured just for that purpose.
