Jindal and Louisiana send message to Washington!

“We don’t want a BP check.  We don’t want an unemployment check.  We want to go back to work.” —- Bobby Jindal

Lift the Moratorium Rally

LAFAYETTE — Thousands attended a rally Wednesday in Lafayette aimed at persuading President Barack Obama’s administration to lift the federal offshore drilling moratorium, which officials said could further endanger the state through the loss of tens of thousands of jobs.

About 11,000 people attended the “Rally for Economic Survival” at the Cajundome and thousands more watched online.

Gov. Bobby Jindal was one of 12 speakers at the roughly two-hour event and pleaded with Obama to allow people to go to work.

The rally was in opposition to the Obama administration’s ongoing efforts to temporarily block deep-water drilling following the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion.

“We don’t want a BP check. We don’t want an unemployment check. We want to go back to work,” the governor said.

You don’t ban cars when there’s a car accident.  You don’t take the planes out of the sky when there’s an air disaster.  You don’t stop mining for coal when there’s a mining catastrophe.  Is there any common sense in Washington, D. C.?

Thank you, BP workers, thank you very much

Good News.  The well is capped.

Obama just spoke and is now taking credit.

What a jerk.

Now that BP has capped the well, it’s all “we” and “us” and not a word of thanks to BP for all the work they have done.  As long as the news was all bad, it was totally about BP.

BP is made up of men and women who  have been up day and night trying to solve this problem.  So regardless of the cause of this disaster, they deserved at least a little teeny tiny thank you from the president.

So I’ll say it:  Thank you, all you workers who have been steadily laboring now for about 3 months to come up with a solution and actually have been able to stop the oil.  You have my respect and gratitude.  I hope all goes well from here on out.

Because “we,” and “us” haven’t done a damn thing.  Not one damn thing.

Nungesser fed up with federal run-around (video)

This is a must see:

Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser sounds off to Anderson Cooper last night, voicing his frustration in dealing with the government and he wants Obama to step back and take a look at what is happening here and overseas.

The Department of Interior has shut down their berm construction due environmental concerns.  Can you believe it?  Environmental concerns.  A little common sense would do them all a world of good.  He named the woman responsible for it – Jane somebody, couldn’t catch the last name.

Nungesser also relates to the situation in Afghanaatan and the frustrations there that have come out with the McChrystal firing.

He is trying to keep his composure but you can tell he is just about to blow his top.

More sabotage: Feds order Louisiana to stop building sand berms (Update)

The government of the United States of America is at war with the States.

After giving their permission on June 2nd,  they – the Department of Interior – have now ordered Louisiana to stop building the sand berms being constructed to try to minimize the damage caused by the oil geyser in the Gulf.

Why is the federal government doing everything they can to destroy the Gulf Coast?  They stop the barges, now they order the construction of the berms.  A federal judge orders that the moratorium on drilling be lifted and the feds say they will appeal.

In addition to all this, Eric Holder’s justice department is suing the State of Arizona.

Looks like the federal government is at war with the states.  Big black Obama boots on the neck of parts of his own country. Have we ever in history seen a president react this way?

It is a fact they are taking sides against everything Louisiana and Arizona are trying to do to help themselves, in the absence of the federal government exercising their responsibilities.

It could not be worse if a foreign government were attacking these states.  And, in fact, in the case of Arizona, it is a foreign government attacking them.  The one thing the government is supposed to be doing they are not doing.  And that is protecting the country.

I hope Louisiana continues to pump sand.  See if the Obama administration will force them to stop.  It’s bad enough that the government has not done their duty to help the states, but it is criminal they are doing what they can to impede the states from protecting themselves.

We have a disaster and all our government can do is worry about some “sensative area?”  NOTHING could be worse than allowing that oil to destroy the entire Gulf of Mexico.

We need a new leader and fast.

Keep pumping that sand, Jindal.  Make them force you to stop.

It’s beyond belief that the man who claimed to be a great uniter is managing to pit citizen against citizen and now even chipping off states to attack.  The United States of America is becoming every man for himself.  I think the states are still united, but not in the eyes of the one in charge.

Day 66

Florida GOP Sen. George LeMieux took the Senate floor yesterday (Monday)to blast the Obama administration’s pathetic management of the Gulf oil disaster.

“61 days ago is when the tragedy started. We are here 61 days later, we still have this tremendous pouring of oil from the bottom of the sea floor into the Gulf of Mexico.

In fact, the amount of oil that is coming into the gulf now equals the size of the Exxon Valdez oil spill every 2 1/2 days.

And yet while this oil continues to gush and while we have hope that the containment dome will capture more and more of this oil as it comes from the bottom of the ocean, we are still seeing a weak, at best, response from the federal government in trying to keep this oil from coming ashore…..”

(My count is that Monday was Day 64.  I think we both may be off.  Anyway, it happened on April 20, 2010, a full two months ago.)

UPDATE:  Can it get any worse?  Yes.

The containment system capturing oil from the Gulf of Mexico spill had to be removed Wednesday, leaving the gusher unchecked after a collision involving a robotic submarine, US officials said.

Obama goes golfing AGAIN

For four hours yesterday, our alleged president played golf with the vice president, as if to smear the nation’s face in the oil.  But before he did that, he took a little time to blame the republicans for the condition of the country and to fly Air Force One to Ohio on Friday for a ten minute speech using at least $500,000 in fuel.

Can you believe this man?  I don’t think it would be out of line to remind him that HE is holding the highest office in the land and the democrats otherwise own Washington D. C..  In fact, the democrats had a majority in congress for two years before he took office.  It seems almost silly to have to say that at this point in time with the Obama administration almost reaching the half-way point.

And I ask you, honestly, have they done anything but drive us further down the wrong road?  I don’t think anybody with an ounce of integrity could say that it hasn’t gotten worse and no relief in sight.  That is the worst part.  No relief in sight.

But here’s the good news, the light at the end of this tunnel – the relief comes in November.  At least the relief begins to happen.  And will be finished off in 2012 when we elect a real president in this country, one that puts the country first.

I would mention that the BP head also went sailing, but I notice that the left wing Obama sites have covered that in detail without once mentioned Mr. Obama’s GOLFING.  And besides that, Mr. Hayward was not the one who took an oath to uphold the constitution and defend the county against all enemies both foreign and domestic.  It was not a republican who was sworn in either.  Obama is a democrat, right?  Somebody said the oil is the enemy, and in a sense he was right.  So that includes the oil, President Obama.  The. worst. president. in. history.

He’s laughing at us behind our backs

or I should say in our faces

June 3, 2010 Day 46

Nobody could be this blatantly nonchalant in the face of the worst ecological disaster in history, unless they intended to give America the middle finger.

Republicans always bowing down to the democrats

By bipartisan agreement, Texas GOP Rep. Joe Barton set a new standard in stupid Thursday by apologizing to BP for President Obama‘s “shakedown” of the company.

Furious GOP leaders scrambled to cap a gusher of outrage ranks over Barton’s misplaced mea culpa. By late afternoon, they made him eat his words.

In my estimation, Joe Barton went from a man to a wimp, aided by Boehner,  Cantor, Pence, Miller (of Florida), who else?

I just saw a poll and not a single soul agrees with me on this.  It was a 100% against what Barton said and in favor of this forced apology.

I stand alone.  😐    (P. S. on 6.19,10 – I am glad to find a few people who agree with me.)

But I do not waver.  Think about it.  The White House demands the house republicans do something and they do it within a few minutes.   If they reacted that fast to “public opinion” in opposing everything the democrats are throwing out, that would be good.  But when you think of how fast they jumped to the commands of the administration, it makes me want to throw up.

Plus  —  Obama summonsing BP executives and demanding they set aside money for the victims, it was a shake down and this hearing is like a kangaroo court.

It’s not about the money.  It’s about how it was done.  Of Course, there should be money to help the victims, but he does not have the authority to order a private company to do anything.

Are we going to stand by, or really help, this government take over the entire private sector?  They are well on their way.

I am not sure how they plan to administer the money, but it would be good if they give it to the states so it can be done at a local level and the federal government completely out of it.  After all, it is the federal government who is shutting down Louisiana’s attempt to stop the oil!

What you want to bet the locals never see any of the money.  I doubt there really is any money.  Maybe that’s why they agreed so quickly.  The agreement was they would say there was going to be a fund, but a fund never materializes.  Everybody looks good and promptly washes their hands.

The White House says to house reepublicans, “Jump” and they say “How high?”

A bunch of weak-kneed republicans.  And that includes Joe Barton who caved in almost immediately.

And the oil keeps pouring out.  While these crooks in Washington argue about an apology.

Chris Dodd gives casino millions of dollars.  $54 million to Mohegan Sun Casino. How sweet it is.

I demand that this money go to the Gulf Coast victims.

Have a hearing on it.

P. S. I guess I should say that, of course, Chris Dodd is not giving anybody his OWN money, but tax payer money.  One last heist.

Coast Guard sabotaging oil removal in La

Update: Here’s a very direct little message to Bobby Jindal. I do love it.

Sixteen barges sat stationary today, although they were sucking up thousands of gallons of BP’s oil as recently as Tuesday. Workers in hazmat suits and gas masks pumped the oil out of the Louisiana waters and into steel tanks. It was a homegrown idea that seemed to be effective at collecting the thick gunk.

But the Coast Guard ordered the stoppage because of reasons that Jindal found frustrating. The Coast Guard needed to confirm that there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board, and then it had trouble contacting the people who built the barges.

Louisiana Governor Couldn’t Overrule Coast Guard

The governor said he didn’t have the authority to overrule the Coast Guard’s decision, though he said he tried to reach the White House to raise his concerns.

“They promised us they were going to get it done as quickly as possible,” he said. But “every time you talk to someone different at the Coast Guard, you get a different answer.”

And who is the commander in chief of the Coast Guard?  None other than Barack H. Obama.

It was estimated today by Tony Hayward that it could be two to four years before the oil in this reservoir is depleted – that is if it cannot be stopped.

And the Coast Guard is shutting down Louisiana’s attempt to do something, to stop the damage.  This is criminal. Because of life jackets and fire extinquishers?  WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

Instead of shutting down the operation, why didn’t the Coast Guard actually HELP and take a boat load, or a couple boat loads, of life jackets and fire extinquishers down there, if that is their problem.  Bring in enough to more than cover any requirements, hundreds of them, and if there’s not enough room on the barge, just sit there with them in case they are needed and let these barges do their job.

And the Secretary of State says that the government is going to sue the State of Arizona on the anti-immigration law.  Governor Brewer says, “Bring it on.”  Good for her.

There is no doubt about it, we’ve got a serious problem in Washington, D. C. and he’s in the Oval Office (occasionally).
