Fox News enters 3-year contract with Juan Williams

FOX news network signs Juan Williams to a new three-year contract for nearly $2 million. Meanwhile, conservative figures blast the public radio network for its response to Williams’ comments about Muslims.

I’m waiting on Obama to speak out in defense of  Juan Williams and one of the “values we hold so dear” and tell the National Public Radio they acted stupidly.  Silence.   NAACP – silence.  Al Sharpton – silence.  He was fired for saying muslims in airplanes make him nervous.  Gee, how horrible is that, huh?   Somehow Juan has gotten on the wrong side of the gustapo.  Jerry Brown, on the other hand, can call his opponent a whore and he gets a reward – the endorsement of NOW, the National Organization of (political) Whores.

Soros vs “the fly at five o’clock”

Glenn Beck’s show of October 20, 2010, in response to George Soros donating $1 million dollars to Media Matters to take down Fox and Glenn Beck.  One of his better programs and well worth watching.

Where is the NAACP to stand up for Juan Williams who has been fired from (liberal, tax funded) NPR?  Do the muslims now out trump blacks?  NAACP are too busy putting out papers on the
Tea Party movement.  I’m betting on Juan Williams being hired by the hated and “raaacist” Fox News Network.

Another story is emerging on firing of Ms. Sherrod (Update 3)

I believe Shirley Sherrod has been wrongly fired after what appears to be a selected portion of her speech to the NAACP was aired.  She said she got three calls from the White House telling  her to resign and she named the person who called her (Cheryl Cook, under secretary at the Department of Agriculture).  Her direct boss fired her, asked for her resignation, whichever it was.  By the way, he said he did not talk to anybody at the White House.

There was an extremely quick reaction and the reason given to her was that Glenn Beck was going to cover the story yesterday, which he did not.

I saw her on Anderson Cooper just now telling her story about how this experience with the “white farmer” was a turning point in her life showing her that it was not about race, but more about the haves and the have nots.  She said there were things in her life that would have made her feel justified to be racist, but that she had chosen not to live her life that way.  I believed her.  We all have issues that we have to work through.

Mr. Spooner, now 88, the farmer in question, was on remote and said he could not believe what he was hearing when he heard she was fired because she had done a wonderful job and actually did help him to save his farm some 20 years ago, and that she could not have treated him better.

This is another example of how things are twisted to prove a point.  And another example of why I need to just turn off the tv (but I never will and I know it.)

This lady, in her speech to the NAACP, was telling a story about an incident that happened over 20 years ago, using it to illustrate something that would help to bring people together and now she has lost her job because of a misinterpretation of it.  Apparently, nobody cared enough to actually check the story out.

Both Ms. Sherrod and Mr. Spooner were on remote, but I could tell they were genuine and that there was no animosity between them, although they had not seen each other in a long time.  This is how it is in the south the majority of the time.  It’s something nobody seems to understand.  Here you have a gentle black and a gentle white who respect each other and that is more the norm, in my experience.  Ms. Sherrod said she wanted to visit the Spooners and that she would have plenty of time to do it (now that she didn’t have a job).

This is why it is such a travesty the way the haters keep picking at the scabs when we have long since moved past it and live and work together in harmony.  I guess many thought the election of a black president would be the crowning touch and an absolute end to the past but it seems to be making it worse.

Why did the administration want her fired without knowing the whole story?  Some things they take forever to decide and others they make snap decisions in a couple of hours.  Either way, the decisions all seem to be wrong.

This may not be the whole context yet since it is still unfolding.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Wednesday that he will reconsider the abrupt firing of Shirley Sherrod, a Georgia-based Agriculture Department official who was the victim of a media frenzy over comments that turned out to have been distorted by video editing.

UPDATE2: Oh, boy, this is something else.  NAACP blaming FOX for “snookering” them when Fox didn’t even cover the story.  Neither did Glenn Beck.  The first he said about it was that context was important and she should not have been fired.
And, get this – the NAACP had possession of the full tape and the NAACP President, Jealous, was at the speech.  So they were well aware of the full context.  Ms. Sherrod said they were not interested in her side of the story.  Strange.  The White House that took weeks to even acknowledge the Gulf Oil Gusher demanded she resign, she was fired, the NAACP issued a condemnation within a few hours.  Now they are blaming FOX?  Come on!

Chickaboomer has the story.

UPDATE3: Wow.  This little heartwarming story is now chilling down a bit and backing up to Eric Holder and, of course, Mr. Vilsack, who seems to be taking the blame for their hasty decision to fire Ms. Sherrod.

It all comes from a class action law suit involving mucho money, some of it going to Ms. Sherrod.  It has also been alleged now that there’s a break in the tape provided by the NAACP, an unexplained break, followed by lots of laughing from the crowd. After all, the “complete” tape was provided by the NAACP.   Something is rotten and it’s not all out yet.  Think lots of money, corruption, and Pigford, Pigford, Pigford.  They wanted this killed immediately so – calling all investigative reporters…..and Glenn Beck.  There must be much more to uncover.

Read the back story – most interesting.

Free Credit Report dot Com (videos)

I love these commercials.  The Rockstar one below is my favorite, at least so far.

All of them (I think) are on the below video.  Very, very creative.   They can get into your mind and you can’t forget what they are promoting.  A lot of bang for the buck for a 30 second ad.  So many commercials are good and you remember the commercial, but not the product.  Not these.  In fact, sometimes you wish you could get that tune out of your head.   I’d love to see somebody do an interview with whoever creates them.

There’s supposed to be a pirate hat somewhere in each one of them.

(Note:  I don’t think it is really free but maybe.)  🙂

Monument to be erected to honor Letterman

Have they begun the construction of the image yet?  They could put it out right next to the Statue of Liberty.  She can hold her torch and he can hold his, uh, …..

He is so cute, making a joke about doing his female employees – not employee, but employees. Forget about workplace sexual harrassment.  All you bosses, you just go for it.  Don’t worry about a thing, certainly not from the National Organization “for” Women.  Being in a position of power, hey, that just makes it easier for you.  But nobody in their right mind would have worried about that anyway, not since a president of the United States got it on with an intern in the Oval Office. Nothing could ever top that one.

Just don’t forget the Number One Rule, in fact the Only Rule:  You have to be a liberal/progressive/democrat.

Thumbs up, Dave.

Oh, and maybe there will be enough room for a memorial to Roman Pelanski, just so everybody will know it’s all right to drug and sodomize a minor and then run from justice.  Might as well release that guy who kidnapped the little 11 year old girl and kept her in the backyard all these years.  Give the man a medal.

UPDATE:  Interesting.  CBS has removed all You Tube clips of the Letterman “explanation” and has not issued an official version.

Copies of the segment were uploaded almost immediately to YouTube by users, but many of them were flagged by CBS for removal, citing copyright claims. The network did not provide an official copy.

“It’s incredibly odd to see CBS sitting on viral gold like that, especially when you consider how they spew out dozens of official clips a day,” said David Burch, a marketing director at TubeMogul, which tracks online viewership of videos.

Obama says he didn’t know ACORN was getting “a whole lot of federal money”

“Frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely,” Obama said. “I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.”

There are lies and there are bold-faced lies.

AP Reports:

President Barack Obama says there should be an investigation into the hidden-camera video involving employees at the activist group ACORN and a couple posing as a prostitute and her pimp. The two ACORN workers are seen apparently advising the couple to lie about her profession and launder her earnings to get housing aid.

The video is only the latest problem for the group, which had nearly $1 million embezzled by its founder’s brother and has been accused of voter registration fraud. The House and Senate voted last week to deny federal funds to ACORN.

Obama told ABC’s “This Week” in an interview broadcast Sunday that what he saw on the video” was certainly inappropriate and deserves to be investigated.” But the president did not say who should investigate. And he said it is not a major national issue he pays much attention to.

“Frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely,” Obama said. “I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.”

God Help Us!

From WRAL.com October, 2008:

Last November, Obama told the group, “I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran (the) Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.”

Obama appreciates ACORN’s work so much, and vice versa, that Obama last December promised to implement ACORN’s agenda as president. On Dec. 1, 2007, Obama spoke at the Heartland Democratic Presidential Forum organized by Deepak Bhargava, executive director of the Center for Community Change. When asked if Obama would sit down with community organizers in the first 100 days of his presidency, Obama said, “Yes, but let me even say before I even get inaugurated, during the transition we’ll be calling all of you (community organizers) in to help us shape the agenda.”

Obama pledged before leaders of community organizing groups including Gamaliel and ACORN: “We’re gonna be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America.”

Sorry, Bertha, how is it under that bus?
