The essense of Obama

Out of the entire drone of over 60 minutes, here is the most revealing part.  If anybody is still wondering exactly who Obama is or what he is about, meditate for a few minutes on the following words:

We should have no illusions about the work ahead of us. Reforming our schools; changing the way we use energy; reducing our deficit – none of this is easy. All of it will take time. And it will be harder because we will argue about everything. The cost. The details. The letter of every law.

Of course, some countries don’t have this problem. If the central government wants a railroad, they get a railroad – no matter how many homes are bulldozed. If they don’t want a bad story in the newspaper, it doesn’t get written.

And yet, as contentious and frustrating and messy as our democracy can sometimes be, I know there isn’t a person here who would trade places with any other nation on Earth.

In that statement is the essense of Obsama.  The total disgust and irritation on his face and in his voice when he said that reveals his dictator heart.  Nothing irritates Obama more than the fact that he can’t just say “build me a railroad” and it’s done.  He already has the most compliant press in history, but it’s not enough for him.  He wants to RULE.  He wants nothing more than to be able to completely control the information we get.

Blagojevich’s media tour (Update)

Impeachment proceedings began yesterday in Illinois with an empty seat where the “impeached” should be sitting.  Meanwhile Governor Blagojevich was making his rounds on almost every tv show you can think of.

In one of the interviews Rod Blagojevich is quoted as saying,  “I thought about Mandela, Dr. King, Gandhi and trying to put some perspective in all of this.”

That is one of the quotes the MSM chose to wallpaper the airways with yesterday.  A little over the top, I will agree, but it’s not a whole lot different than comparing yourself to Abraham Lincoln, Bible and all.

The only interview I actually saw was on Larry King Live, so I was just trying to find out what he said besides the Gandhi quote and the Richard Nixon quote the media decided to play for me.  Here’s a little tidbit that I had not heard before:

“And for me to just quit because some cackling politicians want to get me out of the way because there’s a whole bunch of things they don’t want known about them and conversations they may have had with me ….. would be to disgrace my children when I know I’ve done nothing wrong,” Blagojevich said in a transcript of the interview.

And about his media blitz of yesterday, Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times said:

Blagojevich probably did whip up some sympathy for himself, and that can’t hurt. For someone not caught up in the process, it’s hard to distinguish an impeachment trial — where yes, the governor can be removed from office without calling the witnesses he wants — with a criminal trial, where he has “rights.”

I think I understand the difference between a trial and the impeachment.  Not so much familiar with the impeachment rules, but what seems unfair to me is if they are going to use the wire tap conversations as grounds for the impeachment, which they are, he should be allowed to call witnesses involved in the audio conversations.  So I agree with him.  Call all witnesses, play all tapes, let the whole truth come out.

I just heard there will be some evidence brought forward today on the wire taps.  One thing about it, we don’t even know if the wire taps were obtained legally.  It’s not unheard of that recordings are thrown out at trial.

There are 13 charges in the Articles of Impeachment.  It took me a very long time to find a copy of the actual document.

UPDATE:  Well, I see I have Geraldo on my side.  Just see THIS VIDEO.
