Some details about Judge John Roll killed in Arizona massacre

There’s some strange things about this case.  I was thinking there’s an awful lot of activity on the one hand, so what is the other hand doing?

A federal judge was killed in this shooting and it has been barely mentioned.  There have been news conferences and endless coverage and yet no one has addressed his injuries.  Where was he shot?  When did he die, at the scene or at the hospital?  Could he have been the target?  You would think the death of a federal judge would be the top story, or at least of equal coverage.

They have made a point of stating that Congresswoman Giffords was the target, but that may or may not be true.  So I began trying to find out something about Judge Roll, and what I found leads me to believe he could very well have been more than a random victim.  May or may not.  I don’t know.

But in 2009 Judge Roll was assigned round the clock security because of numerous threats against his life.  He was presiding over a case in which some illegals had sued a rancher for detaining them as they were crossing his land coming into the United States.  He had ruled that the case could go forward and this became a subject of talk radio which resulted in the threats.  This explains a lot as to why we keep hearing so much about toning down the rhetoric.

An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Roger Barnett, 64, began rounding up illegal immigrants in 1998 and turning them over to the U.S. Border Patrol, he said, after they destroyed his property, killed his calves and broke into his home.

His Cross Rail Ranch near Douglas, Ariz., is known by federal and county law enforcement authorities as “the avenue of choice” for immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally.

…..the lawsuit, which seeks $32 million in actual and punitive damages for civil rights violations, the infliction of emotional distress and other crimes. Also named are Mr. Barnett’s wife, Barbara, his brother, Donald, and Larry Dever, sheriff in Cochise County, Ariz., where the Barnetts live.

The lawsuit is based on a March 7, 2004, incident in a dry wash on the 22,000-acre ranch, when he approached a group of illegal immigrants while carrying a gun and accompanied by a large dog.

See Washington Times  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/feb/09/16-illegals-sue-arizona-rancher/

Verdict:  A federal jury in Tucson ruled that an Arizona rancher did not violate the civil rights of 16 Mexican nationals he stopped after they sneaked illegally into the United States, but awarded $78,000 in actual and punitive damages on claims of assault and the infliction of emotional distress.

I’ll bet the whole thing is about illegal immigration and that could explain why President Obama came out so quickly to make a statement.  That was way out of character for him to move so quickly.

There were four men identified as having made the threats against the judge, but he declined to press charges against them.  So don’t you know they have been hunting these guys down behind the scenes.

Something else I ran across was a Wikipedia page showing a date of death for Congresswoman Giffords.  Somebody was really in a hurry to make that notation.  I’m not sure how such changes are made so maybe that’s not unusual, but you would think they would be sure she was dead before reporting her death in Wikipedia.  I just copied the entry below.

Gabrielle Giffords (June 8, 1970 – January 8, 2011) was the U.S. Representative for Arizona’s 8th congressional district. She was a member of the Democratic Party.

On January 8, 2011, she was shot dead at a public event in Tucson, Arizona.[1]

Death

On January 8, 2011, Congresswoman Giffords and at least nine other persons were shot at a “Congress on Your Corner” event at a supermarket in Tucson, Arizona. The suspect was arrested. Giffords died later at University Medical Center in Tucson. [40]

This whole thing is getting curiouser and curiouser.

U. S. government vs Arizona

Mark Levin said it days ago.  It’s a good thing we have some who will tell the truth. Unlike most everybody else yakking about it, he read the law suit.

The truth being that the suit Holder filed against Arizona does not even allege racial profiling.

After the highest of government officials, all the way up to the president, have lambasted Arizona for their immigration law, saying the law is condoning or “has the potential” of major racial profiling, Eric Holder admits yesterday his big fine law suit does not even allege racial profiling.

Of course, they all know that you can’t file a law suit alleging racial profiling unless you have an instance of it – which you can’t possibly have because the law has not even gone into effect yet.  That didn’t stop them from inciting passions about it though, did it.  It’s really unforgivable what this administration is doing, intentionally misleading and deceiving.

Mr. Holder said yesterday he MAY file a suit alleging racial profiling in six months, a year, IF there is any evidence of racial profiling.  He “floats the possibility.”  This is the breaking news after a month or so of using race to get attention.

It’s a sad day when you have the United States government filing a law suit against a state anyway – and a frivolous one at that. I think this is a really big deal. A really bad deal.

There ain’t no racial profiling!!!  The law is not even in effect yet.

They are trying to play us for a bunch of fools.

Obamas should move to Mexico – if they could get papers

President Obama spoke recently about a “spectacle” referring to finger-pointing.

Well, I’ll say what is a spectacle to me and that is the President of Mexico standing on the White House grounds complaining about our immigration laws, in particular the new Arizona law, and with our president standing there cheering him on.  Once again, Obama criticized the law and said something about “core values” which always applies to the benefit of illegals or Gitmo prisoners, or would be bombers – American values but never in his mind for Americans.

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-us-mexico-20100520,0,1961551.story?track=rss

Mark Levin has posted on his web site some specifics about the laws in Mexico and the Mexican Constitution which relate to immigration into the country of Mexico.  He said we should just slap an HR on their own laws and pass it so that we could deal with them in the exact same manner.

[I just found this audio of Levin on this subject.  I love it when he yells.  He yells for me.]

http://www.therightscoop.com/mark-levin-goes-nuclear-over-hypocrite-calderon-and-our-moron-president

Here’s just a few examples:

Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:
– Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116)
– Foreigners who sign government documents “with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses” are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)

Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,
– “A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally.” (Article 123)

Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:
– A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127)

The Mexican constitution expressly forbids non-citizens to participate in the country’s political life.
Non-citizens are forbidden to participate in demonstrations or express opinions in public about domestic politics.

The Mexican constitution denies fundamental property rights to foreigners.

The Mexican constitution denies equal employment rights to immigrants, even legal ones, in the public sector.

See more details here:

http://www.marklevinshow.com/goout.asp?u=http://factreal.wordpress.com/2010/05/08/mexico-vs-united-states-mexican-immigration-laws-are-tougher/

Seems reasonable to me to adopt those same regulations.  And maybe the Obamas could just move down there and help Mr. Calderon clean up his country.  That is if they could get the proper papers and avoid getting locked up for illegal immigration.

I hope they all had a nice little party last night.  All that authentic Mexican food prepared by a special imported from Chicago chef who was disallowed to Tweet about his assignment.

UPDATE:  I just heard Calderon speak before the Congress.  He is now using the terminology “core values.”  Naturally, he is talking about American core values, to be used to benefit him.  And the racial profiling allegation is without merit.  To tell you the truth, I wouldn’t even think this man was from Mexico just to look at him.  I wonder if Obama’s speech writers wrote his speech for him.  This whole thing just needs to be laid to rest.  Enough stupidity.

Holder hasn’t read the Arizona bill SB1070

Eric Holder admits yesterday that he has not even read the Arizona immigration law, SB1070 that has been the subject of much very public criticism by him, the president, and many others.

How is it that the top lawyer in the United States has voiced his so-called concerns about a law based purely on hearsay and what he heard on the news?

It is no small thing to take on the governor of a sovereign state, siding with illegals, claiming this law is probably unconstitutional and encourages profiling, and thereby encouraging an elevated state of lawlessness on the border and within Arizona, and without even reading the about 15 pages of the law.

It surprises me, but I don’t know why it does.  These people are irresponsible.  The president himself said practically the same thing, and I doubt he has read it either.  He could have asked his Attorney General for an opinion of the law, but it is now apparent that he did not, since the AG hasn’t read the law either.

It’s not the first time this president has rushed to judgment on something he admittedly did not have the facts about.

Nancy Pelosi is now instructing Church leaders

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she has told Catholic cardinals, archbishops and bishops that she wants them to speak from the pulpit for immigration reform and tell Catholics who oppose it that reform “is a manifestation of our living the gospels.”

“I would hope that there’s one thing that we can do working together as we go forward that speaks to what the Bible tells us about the dignity and worth of every person — and that is on the subject of immigration,” Pelosi said in her remarks. “Because I think the Church is going to have to play a very major role in how we, in how people are treated.”

“The cardinals, the archbishops, the bishops that come to me and say, ‘We want you to pass immigration reform,’” disclosed Pelosi. “And I say, ‘But I want you to speak about it from the pulpit.’

Well.  Can you believe this?  What “gospels” is she talking about?  I think she must have written her own, because if she is so concerned about what the Church teaches, how can she stand for abortion in direct opposition to the teachings of the church?

There’s only one gospel, but maybe to her there are many gospels.  That way she can pull one out here and there to manipulate people.  But it is beyond belief that she is now instructing the cardinals, archbishops, and bishops.

I believe if the Catholic Church (or other churches) want to advocate for immigration, they should first of all advocate for legal immigration.  And if they want to accommodate illegals in any way as a humanitarian gesture, then the CHURCH should provide for them, as in food, housing, shelter, and pay for any health needs they may have, not send them down to sign up for federal assistance.  While they are providing for their needs, they should be teaching them English, teaching them the laws of the country and how to abide by them, teaching them respect for America and American customs and way of life.

“I WANT YOU to speak about it from the pulpit,” Pelosi says.  From the pulpit?  I guess she wants to forfeit the tax exempt status of the church as well, which they should lose if she gets her wishes.  I don’t think they should be exempt from taxes anyway.  But if they are, then it is that tax money that they would normally be paying in taxes that should be financing their care for immigrants as they assist them on their way to law-abiding citizenship.

“The dignity and worth of every person that the Bible tells us about” comes from God, not the food stamp office.

But when did Ms. Pelosi develop her intense concern for the dignity and worth of human life?

All this is, is an attempt to USE religion to achieve liberal/progressive goals.  It will be interesting to see how far they will take this, and how many times you hear this approach popping up from others and from the MSM.

Story and video:  http://cnsnews.com/news/article/pelosi-says-shes-told-catholic-cardinals-archbishops-and-bishops-they-must-tell

Think of the nerve and arrogance of this woman instructing the leaders of the church, when she herself is in danger of excommunication.

“Pope Benedict warned Catholic politicians they risked excommunication from the Church and should not receive communion if they support abortion.”

“Maybe Obama’s afraid somebody will ask him for his papers”

Laugh of the Day from Rush Limbaugh:

“I can understand Obama being touchy on the subject of producing your papers.  Maybe he’s afraid somebody’s going to ask him for his!”  🙂

It. is. a. joke.  “Think Progress” is making an issue of this comment, (pulled out of a 3-hour show) audio and all.  Maybe they should just “think.”  You have to point these things out to those with no sense of humor.

I just “love” it when these little drones sit around recording and listening to each and every word targeted conservative commentators and talkers have to say, each and every day, to pull out one word, three words, one sentence, two sentences, so the MSM can broadcast it for one reason and one reason only, to try to hurt them.  Frankly, it violates my “basic notion of fairness.”

Limbaugh was discussing the new Arizona immigration law SB 1070, full text.

Put this in the context of the riot police called out yesterday on the peaceful assembly of tea partiers,  you see the “regime” and their mouth, the media, protecting the “basic notion of fairness” for illegals and at the same time harrassing and trampling on the rights of citizens.

You think just maybe the word went out – use the theme “show me your papers,” and make people think about Nazis when they think of the Arizona law?

MARTHA MACCALLUM:  Critics have said that it’s akin to the Nazis, in terms of demanding people’s papers.

F. CHUCK TODD: …The party of “show me your papers.”

KEITH OLBERMANN:  …the “show us your papers act.”

CAMPBELL BROWN:  Show us your papers.

RACHEL MADDOW:  Papers, please.

LESLIE SANCHEZ:  Stop and show us your papers.

HOWARD FINEMAN:  Let’s see your papers.

RICK SANCHEZ:  …to show papers…

PHIL DONAHUE:  We’re walking up to people and saying, “Let me see your papers.”

“MAUDE” BEHAR:  This very much smells of, “May I see your papers?”

PAUL KRUGMAN:  …apocryphal regimes where the police are always saying, “Hand over your papers.”

ELEANOR PELTA:  A let-me-see-your-papers environment.

CHRIS MATTHEWS:  Can he stop the car and say, “Let’s see your papers”?

GERALDO RIVERA:  Can you say, “Papers, please.”

SETH MEYERS:  Can we all agree there’s nothing more Nazi than saying, “Show me your papers”?

LIMBAUGH:  (German accent) “Your papers, please!”  It equals Nazi.  That’s why Obama’s using the term.  I can understand Obama being touchy on the subject of producing your papers.  Maybe he’s afraid somebody’s going to ask him for his!

Transcript of Limbaugh’s program yesterday is Here.

I heard Governor Brewer state her position on Greta Van Susteren.  She was strong and resolute, and I love this woman.

SUPPORT GOVERNOR JAN BREWER AND THE GREAT STATE OF ARIZONA.
