Thank you, BP workers, thank you very much

Good News.  The well is capped.

Obama just spoke and is now taking credit.

What a jerk.

Now that BP has capped the well, it’s all “we” and “us” and not a word of thanks to BP for all the work they have done.  As long as the news was all bad, it was totally about BP.

BP is made up of men and women who  have been up day and night trying to solve this problem.  So regardless of the cause of this disaster, they deserved at least a little teeny tiny thank you from the president.

So I’ll say it:  Thank you, all you workers who have been steadily laboring now for about 3 months to come up with a solution and actually have been able to stop the oil.  You have my respect and gratitude.  I hope all goes well from here on out.

Because “we,” and “us” haven’t done a damn thing.  Not one damn thing.

Another day, another golf game

Day 83

I believe today marks about the 8th or 9th game of golf since the beginning of the destruction of the Gulf of Mexico.  I hear he’s also planning another vacation.  He’s laughing and laughing and laughing at how as a virtual

nobody he became president of the United States of America.

But while he’s laughing, I’m thinking he’s a pretty funny guy himself with his little bird-legs.  It can get fairly demanding, that Oval Office stuff, so he flies all over the country making little speeches at fund raisers but with tickets now being reduced to half price in order to sell them, that’s not going real well.

It must be quite demoralizing and it’s all very hard work.

He needs his rest.  It’s in our best interest.

But then he wasn’t going to rest.

I’m wondering if it really matters?  I guess not.  Mr. Halperin has got it covered for us.  Anxiously awaiting the names of the two unidentified co-players…..

Wonder if he will spot any words painted on Mr. Obama’s fingernail with a message for us?

More sabotage: Feds order Louisiana to stop building sand berms (Update)

The government of the United States of America is at war with the States.

After giving their permission on June 2nd,  they – the Department of Interior – have now ordered Louisiana to stop building the sand berms being constructed to try to minimize the damage caused by the oil geyser in the Gulf.

Why is the federal government doing everything they can to destroy the Gulf Coast?  They stop the barges, now they order the construction of the berms.  A federal judge orders that the moratorium on drilling be lifted and the feds say they will appeal.

In addition to all this, Eric Holder’s justice department is suing the State of Arizona.

Looks like the federal government is at war with the states.  Big black Obama boots on the neck of parts of his own country. Have we ever in history seen a president react this way?

It is a fact they are taking sides against everything Louisiana and Arizona are trying to do to help themselves, in the absence of the federal government exercising their responsibilities.

It could not be worse if a foreign government were attacking these states.  And, in fact, in the case of Arizona, it is a foreign government attacking them.  The one thing the government is supposed to be doing they are not doing.  And that is protecting the country.

I hope Louisiana continues to pump sand.  See if the Obama administration will force them to stop.  It’s bad enough that the government has not done their duty to help the states, but it is criminal they are doing what they can to impede the states from protecting themselves.

We have a disaster and all our government can do is worry about some “sensative area?”  NOTHING could be worse than allowing that oil to destroy the entire Gulf of Mexico.

We need a new leader and fast.

Keep pumping that sand, Jindal.  Make them force you to stop.

It’s beyond belief that the man who claimed to be a great uniter is managing to pit citizen against citizen and now even chipping off states to attack.  The United States of America is becoming every man for himself.  I think the states are still united, but not in the eyes of the one in charge.

Day 66

or

http://www.bp.com/liveassets/bp_internet/globalbp/globalbp_uk_english/incident_response/STAGING/local_assets/html/Skandi_ROV1.html

Florida GOP Sen. George LeMieux took the Senate floor yesterday (Monday)to blast the Obama administration’s pathetic management of the Gulf oil disaster.

“61 days ago is when the tragedy started. We are here 61 days later, we still have this tremendous pouring of oil from the bottom of the sea floor into the Gulf of Mexico.

In fact, the amount of oil that is coming into the gulf now equals the size of the Exxon Valdez oil spill every 2 1/2 days.

And yet while this oil continues to gush and while we have hope that the containment dome will capture more and more of this oil as it comes from the bottom of the ocean, we are still seeing a weak, at best, response from the federal government in trying to keep this oil from coming ashore…..”

Video

(My count is that Monday was Day 64.  I think we both may be off.  Anyway, it happened on April 20, 2010, a full two months ago.)

UPDATE:  Can it get any worse?  Yes.

The containment system capturing oil from the Gulf of Mexico spill had to be removed Wednesday, leaving the gusher unchecked after a collision involving a robotic submarine, US officials said.

Stop the oil from coming ashore!

I really have a problem with these thieving, bribing, rotten congressmen dressing down this guy, Hayward. Talking about honesty and transparency, and that is almost funny. They know nothing of honesty. (Most of them. I thank Congressman Barton for giving this “hearing” some tiny little bit of balance.)  I just heard the house republicans forced him to apologize.  HOW DISGUSTING.

First off, you would think they would be trying to use brainpower to solve the problem. This thing is getting worse and worse, and these people are taking up all this time questioning Hayward. The crisis is not over. Has anybody noticed?

Secondly, we don’t know who was at fault yet in this disaster. Not really. I think this was an accident. Almost every accident is caused by negligence. Now, I want to know who gave this company their day in court and who read them their rights and afforded them the American values Barack Obama and Eric Holder are always talking about regarding terrorists? They should have a judge and jury determine who was negligent in this matter and how much the damages are? I have a hunch there are many parties who have some part in causing this.

Who gave the president of the United States and the Congress the power to do this? I thought the little meeting yesterday with BP was indeed a “shake down.” I think BP, and specifically Mr. Hayward, should plead not guilty and invoke his right to remain silent. They are being more than generous agreeing to, I want to say slush fund, but I think they are calling it a trust fund.

Does anyone think this money, if it is even there, will go to the parties who deserve it? I have no confidence whatsoever that it will.

Who is going to decide who gets that money? Some person appointed by the president who is completely outside the court system? This is an abuse of the separation of powers. The executive branch has no right whatsoever to declare guilt and damages, and then, also administer the damages to whom they want to. By what standards?

What I am seeing here is disturbing beyond belief. And I would think that all citizens would be concerned about a president and/or administration and/or a congressional committee expanding their powers to this level. That is what the court system is for. Deciding guilt or responsibility.

Now, with reference to the president, and Mr. Salazar, and others in the MMS, this disaster happened in federal waters, under a lease duly executed by MMS to BP, and under their supervision and rules. It is the president’s responsibility, regardless of who is at fault here, to do all he can to keep that oil from reaching the shore, and to clean the oil up as much as possible. There is NOBODY out there doing that to this day, day 60.

And worth noting:

During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records.

This is gross negligence and incompetence.

I just heard a congressman tell Mr. Hayward that he was the head of the company and the buck stops with him. Well, the president is the head of this country and he has even announced he is in charge, but yet nothing is being done.

I want sombody to hang one of those pelicans covered with oil right over his desk in the oval office.

I do think it is on purpose. It has to be on purpose that he wants the citizens of the Gulf Coast to be devastated, probably because three out of four of the states did not vote for him.

I say this because I know that there is a massive amount of intelligence in the liberal/progressive party of which he is a part, and untold knowledge residing in Nobel Prize Winner Chu’s head. And not one of them has come up with an idea on how to stop the oil, nor how to keep the oil from displacing the water in the Gulf of Mexico. And, he, himself, is by far the most intelligence person on earth. And since none of them have a solution, I have to determine that it is INTENTIONAL.

Where’s the Navy, where’s the National Guard, where’s General Honore, where’s all the people down there trying to do something, anything?

I believe Mr. Hayward is sorry this happened. I’m watching him and I think he is. Much sorrier than Obama. Hayward has a heart. Obama not so much.

Again, I say, Who owns the Gulf of Mexico? The United States of America, Barack H. Obama, president (so-called) and that makes him responsible for the clean-up. He can get the money from BP later, after the crisis has passed.

But do you have to decide who is at fault before you clear the wrecked cars out of the intersection?

U. S. government basically owns the Gulf of Mexico

I have had a lot of questions regarding the Gulf disaster, mainly who owns the Gulf of Mexico, and here’s a few bullet points I have been able to come up with.

*The adjoining state has 3 miles out.

*The U. S. Government has the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) out about 200 miles.

*The oil rig in question was about 40 miles out.

*BP is leasing from the United States government the right to drill in this particular section of the Gulf of Mexico.

*The Mineral Management Service (MMS) is under the Department of the Interior and handles the entire leasing process.  The Secretary of the Department of Interior, Ken Salazar, is appointed by and serves directly under the president of the U. S.,  Barack Obama.

*When a high bid is accepted by MMS, the submitter receives the official lease forms prepared by the MMS for execution.  They, the leasee, must immediately pay 4/5 of “bonus” amount.

*Some of the funds collected under a lease goes directly to MMS and the rest directly into the U. S. Treasury, so to pretend the government is not involved in this up their neck is ridiculous.

*OCS leases are subject to income tax.

*One commenter said that the revenue from these leases is second only to the income tax.  (See comment section for the quote)

*The entire Gulf of Mexico is broken up into many segments, subject to lease.

*BP has a lease on at least the one where the rig was that is involved here.

*The North Sea oil rig was operated by Transocean, a Swiss based drilling contractor, and leased by BP, an entirely separate thing from the lease to drill.

Who owns the Gulf of Mexico?  The federal government.  But I still have at least one question I want to find the answer to and that is who owns the oil that comes from the well?

In April, 2009, the U. S. exempted BP’s drilling from environmental impact study: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/04/AR2010050404118.html

Barack and the tar balls

I just heard this for the first time with the sound and it hit me – dog-gone it, he is making fun of the tar balls.  “See these lil’, these lil’  balls?  These are the tar balls that they’re talkin’ about.” (Picking up tar ball, making sure the white dress shirt does not get soiled.)

Breaking down Obama’s “ass kicking” sentence

“I was down there a month ago, before most of these talkin’ heads were even paying attention to the gulf. A month ago I was meeting with fishermen down there, standin’ in the rain talking about what a potential crisis this could be. and I don’t sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar, we talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers, so I know whose ass to kick.”’

Outside the obvious offensiveness of the president of the United States using language that to say the least “coarsens” the political debate and requires explanation to children as to why he can use language you don’t allow them to use, there’s a lot more in this short little sentence.

Breaking it down and reading between the lines, my analysis:

“Guys, I long ago took a few hours to go down there at my great inconvenience and discomfort to see about this annoyance in my life.  I even stood in the rain for God’s sake.  What more do you want from me?  A whole month ago I was talkin’ with fishermen (which I don’t think is true, no fishermen on that month ago trip) taking time out on my way to more important things like a fundraiser and a vacation, and long before all those idiot “talking heads” even noticed what was going on, or actually before they had the NERVE to criticize ME at which point they became the irritation they are when they don’t kiss my feet.  Surely you don’t think I just sit around in seminars with so-called experts trying to find a solution to this problem just for the fun of it.  Don’t you know we are talking to them so we can find out how we can find someone else to blame this on and I can just sit back and vote “present” which is how I handle decision-making, because surely you don’t think it was MY fault or place to step up and prevent the whole entire Gulf Coast from being devastated.  Hey, man,  you know I’m occupied with sporting events and vacations and gala balls.  Come on, guys, get a grip.  Cut me some slack.”

And the most telling point is he is talking to experts not to find out what to do but to find out whose butt he is going to kick, in other words, who he can blame for it and point fingers at and to see if there is any possible way or scenario where he can actually blame it on George Bush.
This Obama is a piece of work.
