Democrats are NUTS – Unemployment grows the economy?

These  people are NUTS.

“Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, announced Wednesday that food stamps and unemployment benefits are one of the best ways to help grow the economy.”

And Barney Frank and Joe Biden agree.  I saw a link where Media Matters has said, “Yes, they are right,” which I would not click on and read for any amount of money.

They are stupid, delusional, crazy, and I guess they think that people are going to believe that food stamps and unemployment benefits actually GROW THE ECONOMY???  I cannot believe Pelosi and Frank were re-elected.  I cannot believe it.  Supposedly some economist has said, yes, they are right.  Well, whoever that is stupid, too.  Must be the same economist who said the stimulus money would actually stimulate the economy and keep unemployment no higher than 8 percent – all those shovel-ready jobs that did not exist.

And so unemployment goes up to 9.8, Obama goes to Afghanistan and leaves Joe Biden holding the bag.  I am sure the troops were happy to see him. I know I had to turn off the tv when he came on because if I hear one more word from him and his busted lip, I am going to scream.

Joe Biden has demeaned himself beyond repair by becoming a part of this madness.

And as you may have guessed I can’t stand any of them.  I mean I can’t stand them.  Someone may say that is a little extreme.  But I ask you:  They are all running this country in the ground and I’m supposed to like or respect them?   They disrespect me and the American people by lying and trying to deceive us and I hold them in as much contempt as they do me.

I wish I were a registered democrat so I could go down to the elections office and change it – but I’ve already done that.  My family has always been democrat, grandparents, parents, all of them.  They would turn over in their graves if they could hear or see what is going on in this country.

Highlights this week on the economy, Cramer, Gibbs, “Wealth Destruction”

Jim Cramer, “Greatest wealth destruction by a president.”

Robert Gibbs responds (giggling).

Cramer responds to Gibbs Here.

GOP Sen. John McCain’s amendment to strip the omni-pork package of an estimated 8,500 earmarks worth roughly $8 billion was defeated yesterday afternoon.

See yeas and nays Here.

Some of the same republicans voting against this, Snowe, Collins, Specter, among others.

“”During the 2008 presidential campaign, candidates Barack Obama and John McCain fought vigorously over who would be toughest on congressional earmarks.

“We need earmark reform,” Obama said in September during a presidential debate in Oxford, Miss. “And when I’m president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely.””

Dow up 149 points today closing at 6876.
Dow was 9000+ in January.

I’m changing my name to Fannie Mae (Video)

If you’re a corporate titanic and your failure is gigantic
Down in Congress there’s a safety net for you  🙂

Arlo Guthrie updates Tom Paxton’s “I’m Changing My Name to Chrysler” for these times.  Performed live at the Guthrie Center:

Oh the price of gold is rising out of sight
And the dollar is in sorry shape tonight
What the dollar used to get us now won’t buy a head of lettuce
No the economic forecast isn’t right
But amidst the clouds I spot a shining ray
I can even glimpse a new and better way
And I’ve devised a plan of action worked it down to the last fraction
And I’m going into action here today

I am changing my name to Fannie Mae
I am going down to Washington D.C.
I’ll be glad they got my back
‘Cause what they did for Freddie Mac
Will be perfectly acceptable to me
I am changing my name to Fannie Mae
I am headed for that great receiving line
So when they hand a trillion grand out
I’ll be standing with my hand out
I’ll get mine

When my creditors are screaming for their dough
I’ll be proud to tell them all where they can go
They won’t have to scream and holler
They’ll be paid to the last dollar
Where the endless streams of money seem to flow
I’ll be glad to tell them all what they can do
It’s a matter of a simple form or two
It’s not just remuneration it’s a liberal education
Ain’t you kind of glad that I’m in debt to you

Since the first amphibians crawled out of the slime (of the slime!)
We’ve been struggling in an unrelenting climb
We were hardly up and walking before money started talking
And it’s sad that failure is an awful crime
It’s been that way for a millennium or two
But now it seems that there’s a different point of view
If you’re a corporate titanic and your failure is gigantic
Down in Congress there’s a safety net for you

Robert Gibbs complains about Rick Santelli

I mentioned in a previous post how flustered Robert Gibbs was about Rick Santelli’s remarks from Chicago.

This from CNN Political Ticker:

The White House press secretary took the opportunity to blast the medium at Friday’s press conference when asked about CNBC reporter Rick Santelli’s recent tirade against the president’s mortgage plan. “I…think that it’s tremendously important that for people who rant on cable television to be responsible and understand what it is they’re talking about,” Gibbs said. “I feel assured that Mr. Santelli doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

Has anyone noticed how thin-skinned the new administration is?  Speaking of “ranting on cable tv,” the likes of Keith Olbermann and others ranted against George Bush for eight solid years.  Did you hear him whining about it?  I didn’t think so.

Mr. Gibbs goes on the complain about coverage during the campaign.

“If I hadn’t worked on the campaign but simply watch the cable news scorekeeping of the campaign, we lost virtually every day of the race,” he said. “If I would have just watched cable TV, I long would have crawled into a hole and given up this whole prospect of changing the country.”

All I can say is, most everybody knows that the cable news coverage of the Obama campaign was close to an all-out campaign ad for him.  So for Mr. Gibbs to now turn on cable tv is turning on those who were largely responsible for Obama’s election,  especially NBC.

This is a quote from a commenter (Beppo) on the CNN site where this article was posted.

Yeah, thank God the Democrats never tried to undermine the Republican administration. Oh wait, they did every day for eight years.
Hey, whatever happened to “dissent is patriotic?” Has that gone away now that His Holiness has built Jerusalem on the Potomac?
Honestly, the cult of Obama is creepier than anything wicked old George Bush ever did.

First it was Rush Limbaugh, now it’s Rick Santelli.  They are just a little too concerned about any dissent.

You can watch the segment of the press conference where Gibbs defends the plan and rags on Santelli.

Real economic recovery – 1 year mortgage holiday

Here’s a plan that would help all Americans, and provide immediate economic stimulus

You will not have to make any monthly principal and interest mortgage payments for one year under this common sense economic stimulus plan!!!

Congress should pass immediate legislation for the President to sign into law that offers temporary relief for twelve months for all homeowners and business owners who have mortgage/trust deed/note debt obligations for a one-year mortgage moratorium forbearance period.

You would not be required to make monthly principal and interest mortgage payments for a one-year forbearance period on your mortgage debt obligation.

Imagine what the American family, consumer and businesses could do with their extra cash: Pay down their personal and business credit card debt or fund college education to help build a better America, make donations to their charity of choice, rebuild their personal savings accounts, and of course spend the money back into the business community, providing jobs, and stimulating our economy.

Most importantly, this plan will lift the spirits and morale of the American people. It will help restore confidence in the economy and stability to the financial credit markets. It will restore trust in our elected government officials and create hope for our families and America’s future.

This is the ultimate WIN WIN for Democrats, Republicans, Liberals & Conservatives… ALL AMERICANS!!!

How it would work

I just thought of the renters.  What about the renters?  (Just noticed:  There is a provision for renters in the plan.)

They are mad and they won’t take it any more

Democrats fighting among themselves.

Senior House Democrats have a message for their Speaker: We’re mad as hell, and we’re only taking it this one last time.

As congressional Democrats take the lead in responding to the sinking economy, subcommittee and even some full-committee chairmen — who normally wield significant influence in writing legislation — have been forced to wait on the sidelines as monumental bills are written in Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) office.

See story Here.
