How do you like that NEW TONE?

I am observing this with my mouth open.  We are seeing and hearing the entire democratic regime go off the rails.  But democrats are always emboldened because they know the liberal media will cover for them.  But not only cover for them, they participate with them as though they all got together and decided the word(s) they would use.

Quotes from News Commentators:  http://dailycaller.com/2011/08/03/hostage-metaphor-is-liberal-commentators-new-talking-point/

Quotes from Lawmakers:  http://dailycaller.com/2011/08/03/hostage-metaphor-is-liberal-commentators-new-talking-point/2/

It is bad enough when people who are not in government name call and attack those who disagree with their view of the world, but when democrat members of congress can’t quit saying hostage, hostage, hostage, not only in press conferences but actually on the floor of the Senate and House, it just shows their lack of respect and ignorance.  It also shows they have no tolerance for ideas other than their own.

Bigot:  A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs.

And all because the American People sent to Washington some duly elected House and Senate members who can’t be bought and are not playing the Washington game, who will address the awful state of affairs our country is in.

It’s a little ironic that this is taking place around the time Gabby Gifford made her first appearance back in Washington after being shot in the head.  Even the president has been talking about republicans “holding a gun to the heads of Americans” only months after he lectured on the subject of civility in Tuscon.  And remember all that silliness about the republicans sitting with the democrats at the state of the union (which was designed solely for the purpose of the visual of a lot more republicans than demos in congress). https://bellalu0.wordpress.com/2011/01/15/sit-together-never/ and https://bellalu0.wordpress.com/2011/01/25/children-are-running-the-country/

If violent rhetoric actually causes violence, then there will be a massive amount of violence that comes from the way these democrats are speaking and reacting.

I really think this is coming across as disgusting to voters and there’s going be a great “clean out” in Washington come 2012 even greater than 2010.

America has got to get rid of these entrenched politicians like Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, and Steny Hoyer, et al.

They are going to eat these words they are spewing.

Not everybody in the USA is hurting (Repost)

American People — Get ready for heavy lifting and sacrifices “for the greater good.”

Meanwhile — some recent real estate transactions.  I’m glad to see the Wall Street bailout was successful.  See more at Luxist:

–Lehman’s former head of mortgage banking, Kurt A. Locher, recently spent $5.25 million on a West End Avenue apartment.

–Ex-AIG executive vice president Robert M. Sandler spent $3.45 million at the Hampshire House the day after the F.B.I. announced its investigation into his old firm’s collapse.

–Rosemary T. Berkery, the former vice chairman, general counsel and senior vice president at Merrill Lynch, has bought a $5.2 million apartment at 975 Park Avenue. She and her husband, attorney Robert Hausen, already have a co-op five floors down in the building.

–Jeff Zavattero, a Bear Stearns senior managing director recently sold his apartment at 530 East 76th St. for $4.2 million for his apartment.

–A former Lehman Brothers vice chairman Kunho Cho sold his One Beacon Court condo for $10 million. Mr. Cho and his wife, Tay, paid only $5.975 million when they bought the apartment in June 2005.

-Leo Tilman, Bear Stearns’ chief institutional strategist before starting up his own firm, has paid $3.5 million for a condo at Tribeca’s 101 Warren Street.

–50 Cent has dropped the price of his 19-bedroom, 51,000-square-foot Farmington, Connecticut mansion by $4 million. The home, Mike Tyson’s former home, was listed at $18.5 million when it was our estate of the day in 2007.

It’s hard out here…..:

Fannie Mae wants more money

What’s new from Fannie Mae?  Well, guess what, they are now asking the U. S. Treasury for $15.2  billion more and this is (after the bailout).

The US government-controlled Fannie  Mae reported a loss of 25.2 billion dollars in the fourth quarter driven mainly by the effects of a prolonged housing slump and a global financial crisis.

It had a third-quarter loss of 29.0 billion dollars. For the full year of 2008, the company posted a loss of 58.7 billion dollars, almost 27 times higher than the 2007 loss of 2.1 billion dollars.

Fannie Mae said it submitted a request Wednesday for 15.2 billion dollars from the Treasury “in order to eliminate our net worth deficit as of December 31, 2008.”

“We expect the market conditions that contributed to our net loss for each quarter of 2008 to continue and possibly worsen in 2009, which is likely to cause further reductions in our net worth,” the company said in a statement.

For the rest of the story. (RIP Paul Harvey)

Now, watch the video below from late 2004 how the regulatory guy who was trying to put a stop to the lending practices and fraud in Fannie Mae – how he is being berated and attacked by these people who are supposed to be representing the people of America.  We have been had.  And had bad.

Note:  Mr. Arthur Davis shown on this video was a man and stepped up and said he was wrong in his comments at the time and for that he has my admiration.  I don’t know of any other person who is shown who has done that.

What Caused Our Economic Crisis? Money For Nothing and Your Houses For Free (Repost)

This was first posted in September of 2008.

This video made it to the Mainstream Media.  New Media, the internet, and American citizens, are doing the legwork and investigative reporting so lacking in the Mainstream.

I’m not sure what version of the video this is, but what about this attempt to shut this video down?  More strong arm tactics?  That freedom of speech really does rub some people the wrong way.  And we sure don’t want them in the White House.  (Too late now)

ALERT 09/30 15:00 pm ET: YouTube has now taken down not only the first version of the Burning Down the House video produced by TheMouthPiece, but has also taken down versions 2 (9/27) and 3 (9/29).  The version directly below is now removed.

http://therealbarackobama.wordpress.com/2008/09/26/burning-down-the-house-what-caused-our-economic-crisis/

HERE’S THE NEW VERSION BELOW:

The current mess would never have occurred in the absence of ill-conceived federal policies. The federal government chartered Fannie Mae in 1938 and Freddie Mac in 1970; these two mortgage lending institutions are at the center of the crisis. The government implicitly promised these institutions that it would make good on their debts, so Fannie and Freddie took on huge amounts of excessive risk.

Worse, beginning in 1977 and even more in the 1990s and the early part of this century, Congress pushed mortgage lenders and Fannie/Freddie to expand subprime lending. The industry was happy to oblige, given the implicit promise of federal backing, and subprime lending soared.

This subprime lending was more than a minor relaxation of existing credit guidelines. This lending was a wholesale abandonment of reasonable lending practices in which borrowers with poor credit characteristics got mortgages they ere ill-equipped to handle.

Leave Roland Burris Alone!

Let the man have his Senate seat and get off his back.

I really don’t know what the problem is with Mr. Burris.  If all calling for him to resign would just shut up, there would not be a problem.  And if — if — he had to walk in by himself last night as some kind of a shun, then all the Senators should be ashamed.  I absolutely hate it when someone cries race or racist, but I am beginning to wonder if that’s what it is.  First they block him from the Senate floor so he can’t be sworn in with the rest of the Senate, and now they want him to resign.

rolandburris

He obviously wants the position, I think he considers it an honor that he maybe has hoped, he was duly and legitimately appointed, and he seems to me to be an honorable man, so just exactly what has he done that he should resign?

And besides that, if Tim Tax Cheat Geithner can be Secretary of the Treasury and IRS, Mr. Burris can surely be a Senator.

Billions going into a bottomless pit

First $350 billion gone with the wind.  Seeking release of the remaining $350 billion.  Obama stimulus package amount unknown but rumored to be $850 billion and that’s probably on the short side.

ABUSE INHOFE

Senator James Inhofe

I don’t know Senator James Inhofe but I couldn’t agree with him more.  He recently said in an interview the following:

U.S. Sen. James Inhofe tells Newsmax that Congress’ approval of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout is the “most outrageous vote in American history.”

“First of all I was somewhat of a leader of the opposition way back in October, in mid-October,” Inhofe responded.

“I think history will treat that vote as the most outrageous vote in American history, where 75 percent of the House and Senate voted to give an unelected bureaucrat an unprecedented amount of money – the largest amount in American history to be actually voted on at one time, with no strings attached, no guidelines, no oversight.

And there is no money, it has to be borrowed.  And Obama has chosen Timothy Geithner, a man to head up the Treasury, who owes more back taxes than many make in a year.  And because of this drastic situation, we have to hurry, hurry, hurry, and not ask too many questions because we have to have a Treasury Secretary in place.

Well, would it be asking too much for Obama to choose a man who at least pays his taxes?  If he doesn’t know enough to do that, even if it was a mistake, do we want him in the charge of the United States Treasury, because whoever gets this job will be the next unelected bureaucrat to be in charge of an unprecedented amount of money.

And I remember Zoe Baird being drummed down for a withholding problem or oversight and she didn’t get the appointment.

I just heard that Bank of America and Citi Bank are coming back for more.  How much longer are we going to stand for this?  How much longer are we going to keep paying taxes and struggle to make a living on what is left?  How much longer before we sleep on the Capitol steps or lie down in the hallways of Congress or turn over a few cars as they did in Athens?  I understand their frustration.

Congress Gives Themselves a RAISE

Congress Awards Themselves a Raise

I cannot believe this, I really can’t.  What an arrogant bunch of thieves.  They are THIEVES.  And they should resolve to take NO money during 2009.  They should have to give back every dime they got for 2008.  They are incompetent!  I am to the point that I wish each and every one of them would be removed and we could just start over.  This is just an OUTRAGE.

scream2

If I had $4,700, I could pay off all my bills and have some left over.  And they each receive over $174,000 per year already.  I think Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and Barack Obama kept getting paid and they haven’t darkened the doors for two years probably.  I read that Hillary is right now receiving her salary, and Rahm Emanuel has not resigned either.  Obama resigned but who knows, he may be receiving a salary right now as well.  He resigned, but I am sure it was only because they wanted to get someone appointed in his place before Christmas.  And Joe Biden, I forgot about him.

I don’t care if it didn’t take a specific act, just makes it worse.  They should specifically turn it down.

“As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain,” said Daniel O’Connell, chairman of The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a non-partisan group. “This money would be much better spent helping the millions of seniors who are living below the poverty line and struggling to keep their heat on this winter.”

I’ll have to say that at least Rod Blagojevich put it right out front — he wanted money.  Is everybody dishonest?  Is everybody greedy?  Have they no shame?  I hope Blago does not resign and takes it to trial.  Let it all come out.
