Catholic Church sues Obama administration – no media coverage

This took place on Monday, May 21, 2012.  It seems a lot of people are not aware of it.  I  guess that’s because the corrupt media has not covered it.  Well, I’d call it a cover-up.  Wonder why?  Catholic Church suing the obama administration?  No big deal?  Huge deal.

The University of Notre Dame joined other Catholic institutions Monday in suing the Obama administration over its contraception mandate.

The lawsuit argues the mandate in the healthcare law requiring that insurance plans cover birth control for women without a co-pay violates the religious freedom of Catholic institutions.

The Archdiocese of Washington, the Michigan Catholic Conference and the Catholic University of America are among the other plaintiffs in the suit.

Notre Dame’s participation is notable because Obama gave a controversial commencement speech at the school in 2009. Anti-abortion-rights groups criticized the school for inviting Obama because of his position on abortion.

The suit was one of 12 similar actions filed Monday around the country, a release from the Archdiocese of Washington stated, bringing the total number of cases now pending over the mandate to more than 30.

Bishops will not bow to the idols made of obama

He started this.  The time is at hand to make the stand.  He is a real piece of work, taking on the church, the supreme court, the rule of law, just trying to undermine the entire constitution.  If he is able to rip this consitution, which is his utmost desire, we are all going to be eating dog meat for a long time to come.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has taken a bold stand for religious freedom. In a recent statement, titled “Our First, Most Cherished Liberty,” the bishops call for repeal of contraception coverage mandated by the Department of Health and Human Services. The clarified position sets up a dramatic confrontation with the Obama administration—and would, if the bishops prevail, help preserve the religious liberty of all Americans.

Barack Obama listens to a question from a guests attending the Health Care Summit.

The HHS mandate requires employers to provide insurance coverage for contraception and sterilization services. It is, according to the bishops, an “unjust law.” They write: “It cannot be obeyed and therefore one does not seek relief from it, but rather its repeal.”

The statement is a rebuke of President Obama and the so-called accommodation his administration proposed in February. It also raises the stakes between the president and the leaders of America’s Catholic Church.

The bishops call on Catholics in America, “in solidarity with our fellow citizens,” not to obey the law. They implicitly compare the HHS regulation to a segregation-era statute, and even cite Martin Luther Kind Jr.’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.” In a not-so-subtle manner, the bishops tell the Obama administration that they are willing to go to prison rather than comply with the mandate’s provisions.

Rush Limbaugh a closeted democrat?

Just read this piece by Joan Walsh in Salon.  Here is an excerpt:

I’ve decided Rush Limbaugh must be a closeted Democrat. I can’t think of any other reason he would be leading the Republican Party over a political cliff by advising that they double down on the culture wars.

With new poll data showing that President Obama is quickly gaining ground among women voters, at least partly due to Republican extremism on contraception, Limbaugh told his listeners Thursday that the GOP would win the election if it’s decided on culture-war terms.

“Something tells me, that if the upcoming election could be decided on social issues, the Republicans could win that in a landslide, because we are on the right side of the culture war,” he said. “The problem is, we’re scared to death of it. The Republican establishment wants no part of it.”

Smart Republicans are indeed afraid of the culture wars – because they know they’re on the losing side. Sadly, there aren’t very many smart Republicans anymore; or at least there aren’t very many who will stand up to extremists in their base and say enough is enough on their jihad against birth control.

http://www.salon.com/topic/rush_limbaugh/

Wow.  A “jihad against birth control?”  A jihad?  Ah, the new tone.

This Joan Walsh is one dumb broad.  And the funny part is she thinks she is the utmost in intelligence.

NOBODY wants to take her ever-lovin’ birth control pills, for god’s sake.

She and her kind are the ones running a jihad.  They presume to know what Americans think, and they are so wrong.  This is the boneheadedness that is going to lose for them.  There’s going to be such a landslide against their ilk in this country and it is going to make their heads spin.

I frankly think it is they, obama and his minions like Joan Walsh, that have gone off the cliff.

Remember, it is obama who started the contraceptive controversy.  As someone pointed out, it was really George Stephanopoulis who first threw out the question when he bore down on his questioning of Romney in the ABC debate.  And you think ABC and the rest of the media are not working in concert with the obama administration and the democrats?  Think again.  They needed this issue – this non-issue – so they could then claim the republicans are trying to get rid of contraceptives.  Not true.  As long as the government stays out of the Bedroom, all is well.  But obama cannot tell the church what they have to do.  He cannot and he will not and he has overstepped his bounds.

He has, however, done the impossible – united the Catholic Church and the Baptists and evangelicals.  Whoa, I don’t think he saw that coming.

I think it has backfired big time.  So, don’t worry your pretty little head about it, Ms. Walsh.  Have your day, yak your trash.  You just don’t know what you are dealing with.

His highness obama offers “accommodation” to Catholic Church

His holy highness obama in his mercy has offered an accommodation/indulgence to the bishops for their failure to obey his command to provide free birth control to all women no matter “where they work ” I don’t think he will ever forgive them though.  He has instead commanded the insurance companies to provide it for free, and I don’t think he even told them he was going to command such a thing.

(Pregnancy is not a disease so preventing it or ending it is not health care to begin with and free birth control is not a right, although free birth control has now been placed on the same level or even above freedom of religion.)

We are all Catholics now.

It is totally sexist to put all the focus on women, women rights, women reproductive rights, et cetera, et certera.   I don’t know, maybe I missed the free condoms.  And sex without a condom?  Now that might qualify as a disease.  Or at least the spreading of one….or more.

“We need to pass the bill (Obamacare) to see what is in it” Pelosi said

“The federal government should do what it’s traditionally done since July 4, 1776, namely back out of intruding into the internal life of a church,” (Cardinal Designate Timothy Dolan)

We are beginning to find out what is in Obamacare, aren’t we, and this is just the tip of the iceberg..  This is a direct and blatant violation of the First Amendment.  Amazing how  barack obama  and his minions are disrespecting the Constitution of the United States.  For years all I have heard is “separation of church and state,” but now we see that is only used to rip the ten commandments, manger scenes, crosses, et cetera from public view and prayer and bible reading from schools and public meetings and gatherings, which was a stretch to begin with.   This – preventing the intrusion of government into religion – is really what the First Amendment was talking about.  And this is only the beginning if we don’t rid ourselves of this “obamanation” in the white house.  And it also should be noted the democrats in congress are standing behind their leader.  Anybody who is registered democrat should run not walk to change their affiliation.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — There was a sharp rebuke Wednesday from Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan that put even more pressure on the president to calm a widening election year uproar. The issue at hand was the president’s insistence that Catholic institutions provide free birth control to their employees.

Dolan came to the South Bronx to bless a library, but he had no blessings — just harsh words — for President Barack Obama, who wants Catholic institutions to pay for birth control, the morning after pill and other services for people who work for them.

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/02/08/cardinal-designate-dolan-president-obama-needs-to-stop-intruding-into-internal-life-of-a-church/

“The federal government should do what it’s traditionally done since July 4, 1776, namely back out of intruding into the internal life of a church,” Dolan told CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer.

All denominations and factions of Christianity need to put aside their differences and all people who name the Name of Chirst should unite to stand against this violation of freedom of religion.

The hypocrisy of Nancy Pelosi and other democrat Catholics ~ Stunning

Why does the media not hold these people to account for their hypocrisy?

Vatican City (AP) – Pope Benedict XVI received Nancy Pelosi, one of the most prominent abortion rights politicians in America, and told her Wednesday that Catholic politicians have a duty to protect life “at all stages of its development.” The U.S. House speaker, a Catholic, was the first top Democrat to meet with Benedict since the election of Barack Obama, who won a majority of the U.S. Catholic vote despite differences with the Vatican on abortion.

May 12, 2010

(CNSNews.com) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says she believes she must pursue public policies “in keeping with the values” of Jesus Christ, “The Word made Flesh.”

Pelosi, a Catholic who favors legalized abortion, voted against the ban on partial-birth abortion that was enacted into law in 2003.

…..

After Pope Benedict XVI met privately with Speaker Pelosi in February 2009, the Vatican issued a statement saying: “His Holiness took the opportunity to speak of the requirements of the natural moral law and the Church’s consistent teaching on the dignity of human life from conception to natural death which enjoin all Catholics, and especially legislators, jurists and those responsible for the common good of society, to work in co-operation with all men and women of good will in creating a just system of laws capable of protecting human life at all stages of its development.”

QUESTION:

“The administration has issued a regulation that will require all healthcare plans to cover sterilization and all FDA approved contraceptives including those that induce abortions. This will force Catholic individuals and institutions to act against their consciences. All across the nation..”

PELOSI:

“Is this a speech or do we have a question disguised as speech?”

QUESTION:

We cannot and will not comply with this law.

Will you stand with your fellow Catholics in opposing this law?

PELOSI:

I’m going to stand with my fellow Catholics in supporting the administration on this. I think it was a very courageous decision that they made and I support it.

Meet the Catholics in Congress

Here’s our snapshot of the spectrum of pro-life votes and views of Catholics on Capitol Hill, newly updated for the 112th Congress.

WASHINGTON — Catholics make up about 28% of the members of Congress, compared to 30% when the 111th Congress began. But both figures are higher than the percentage of Catholics in the U.S. population, 24%.

Following is a list of the members of the 112th Congress who refer to themselves as Catholics.

The percentage next to them is their pro-life rating since 1997, as compiled by National Right to Life. Information prior to 1997 was unavailable at press time. They are listed from the highest pro-life rating to the lowest.

Nancy Pelosi is now instructing Church leaders

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she has told Catholic cardinals, archbishops and bishops that she wants them to speak from the pulpit for immigration reform and tell Catholics who oppose it that reform “is a manifestation of our living the gospels.”

“I would hope that there’s one thing that we can do working together as we go forward that speaks to what the Bible tells us about the dignity and worth of every person — and that is on the subject of immigration,” Pelosi said in her remarks. “Because I think the Church is going to have to play a very major role in how we, in how people are treated.”

“The cardinals, the archbishops, the bishops that come to me and say, ‘We want you to pass immigration reform,’” disclosed Pelosi. “And I say, ‘But I want you to speak about it from the pulpit.’

Well.  Can you believe this?  What “gospels” is she talking about?  I think she must have written her own, because if she is so concerned about what the Church teaches, how can she stand for abortion in direct opposition to the teachings of the church?

There’s only one gospel, but maybe to her there are many gospels.  That way she can pull one out here and there to manipulate people.  But it is beyond belief that she is now instructing the cardinals, archbishops, and bishops.

I believe if the Catholic Church (or other churches) want to advocate for immigration, they should first of all advocate for legal immigration.  And if they want to accommodate illegals in any way as a humanitarian gesture, then the CHURCH should provide for them, as in food, housing, shelter, and pay for any health needs they may have, not send them down to sign up for federal assistance.  While they are providing for their needs, they should be teaching them English, teaching them the laws of the country and how to abide by them, teaching them respect for America and American customs and way of life.

“I WANT YOU to speak about it from the pulpit,” Pelosi says.  From the pulpit?  I guess she wants to forfeit the tax exempt status of the church as well, which they should lose if she gets her wishes.  I don’t think they should be exempt from taxes anyway.  But if they are, then it is that tax money that they would normally be paying in taxes that should be financing their care for immigrants as they assist them on their way to law-abiding citizenship.

“The dignity and worth of every person that the Bible tells us about” comes from God, not the food stamp office.

But when did Ms. Pelosi develop her intense concern for the dignity and worth of human life?

All this is, is an attempt to USE religion to achieve liberal/progressive goals.  It will be interesting to see how far they will take this, and how many times you hear this approach popping up from others and from the MSM.

Think of the nerve and arrogance of this woman instructing the leaders of the church, when she herself is in danger of excommunication.

“Pope Benedict warned Catholic politicians they risked excommunication from the Church and should not receive communion if they support abortion.”
