J’adore I’or is the sensational perfume of the fall
“As magical as it may be, a perfume is above all the art of raw materials”, confides François Demachy, Dior’s Perfumer-Creator, for whom using the finest ingredients is a top priority.
Dior will launch a new iteration of their pillar fragrance J’Adore called J’Adore L’Or (I Adore Gold) from the end of October 2010
The 2009 Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra has been revealed – a $3 million diamond-studded bra created by Damiani.
The 2009 Harlequin Fantasy bra is hand set with over 2,350 white, champagne and cognac-colored diamonds in a harlequin pattern. The bra also has a heart-shaped 16-carat champagne diamond dangling from the front.
Obviously to be worn with no clothes on to obstruct the view. 🙂
The bra will be on display during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on December 1 on CBS.
The American designer, Marc Jacobs, brought the golden era of the 1980s/90s New Age traveller back to fashion’s forefront in his spring/summer 2010 collection for Louis Vuitton, at the Paris prêt-a-porter season yesterday.
“Street clothes, embracing the hippie-cyber, tribal-punk world,” he said, after a parade of 55 models, wearing giant, multicoloured, Afro wigs, and clad in everything from glitter-anoraks, fringed shirts and satin corsets to jewel-encrusted, denim hot-pants over lace-up leggings.
Talk about some nappy-headed hos! I always loved those afro styles. This should be good for the makers of the permanent wave.

New York Magazine asks: “Who is the world’s most glamorous presidential spouse?”
More importantly, after this past week, I am wondering, who is the new leader of the free world?
In the District on Tuesday to play for the Washington Kastles in a World Team Tennis match, Serena Williams paid a visit to the White House.
“It was amazing,” the reigning Wimbledon champ effused during a news conference before her match. “I loved President Obama! He has such an unbelievable presence yet seems to be so normal. He noticed my shoes! I think that was the highlight of my whole day! He liked my shoes.”
Noting her Fendis “were like 5 inches,” she continued: “He asked me should I be wearing high heels, so I thought that was kind of funny. He may have been right. It is a job hazard for me, but I insist on wearing them.”
She was asked if she was following the hearings being held on Supreme Court Nominee Sonia Sotomayor and she replied, nah.
But Sotomayor had a slight connection with Fendi as a New York litigator at Pavia & Harcourt, where she worked with Fendi on issues involving counterfeit goods. Back in 1992, the San Francisco Chronicle quoted Sotomayor as saying: “There will always be people who will run the risk of breaking the law. The only thing companies like Fendi can do is contain the problem as much as is humanly possible.”
I would love to see a picture of the exact shoes Serena was wearing to the White House, but no picture can be found. I wonder if this could be them? This photo was taken in late June at a pre-Wimbledon party.

There’s nothing new under the sun.
Just when you thought they would never return… ripped jeans are back. Starting in 2008 with a horde of sexed-up editorial shoots and celebrity sightings, those torn denim shorts and shredded jeans are hitting the streets. Ripped denim in 2009 is certainly sexy and revealing – possibly more than ever.
I like it. How appropriate for the economic climate.
