Treason against the United States

Treason is defined by, “The offense of betraying one’s own country by attempting to overthrow the government through waging war against the state or materially aiding it’s enemies”. Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution specifically states that, “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort”.

When Barack Obama released five-high ranking Taliban officials for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, a deserter, Obama betrayed the highest obligation of his office – safeguarding national security. This is a fact that cannot be refuted.

The President admitted this on Tuesday when a reporter asked, “Is there the possibility of some of them [The Taliban Five] returning to activities that are detrimental against the U.S.” Obama responded, “Absolutely“. Today, not even a week after their release to Qatar, one of the five Taliban leaders released confirmed Obama’s statement.
