Santelli: If not for the tea party, we’d be rated BBB

See video and transcript of Santelli’s rant today:  http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2011/08/08/rick-santelli-if-it-wasnt-tea-partywe-would-have-been-rated-bbb

President Pull-ups and his party play the blame game as the world watches (and laughs).

Obama and the democrats are scrambling, making ridiculous and silly accusations and now investigating S&P and blaming the tea party for the downgrade.

Who knew the tea party was so powerful.  Goodness, they are strong enough to take hostages and overpower a president and a senate and the liberal media?  That’s a David and Goliah situation if I ever heard one.

It is absolutely the funniest thing I have heard.  I laughed out loud at John Kerry and Axelrod calling the downgrade a tea party downgrade.  I did not know they were comedians.  There is one and only one plank in the tea party platform – Stop the Spending.  So tell me another joke.

Of course, it is outrageous, isn’t it, that the tea party came up from nothing a couple years ago and actually elected some congressmen to represent their views in Washington?  Imagine that.

But the mantra of the tea party was:  “We will remember in November.”

Americans should be thanking the tea party.  I think they are thanking the tea party.  The ship was going down when they got to Washington.  At least they are trying to plug the hole.

But, wait, I’m confused.  The DNC said Obama and the demos won and came out on top on the debt deal.

And as Santelli says:  If not for the tea party, the rating downgrade would have been worse.

Parting quote from Santelli:  “We are in trouble and our ‘leaders’ are on vacation until September 7th. It’s reprehensible.”

Fannie and Freddie downgraded by S and P

Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services on Monday downgraded the credit ratings of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and other agencies linked to long-term U.S. debt.

The agency also lowered the ratings for: farm lenders; long-term U.S. government-backed debt issued by 32 banks and credit unions; and three major clearinghouses, which are used to execute trades of stocks, bonds and options.

All the downgrades were from AAA to AA+, reflecting the same downgrade S&P made of long-term U.S. government debt on Friday.

Former Obama economic advisor and car czar lies about calling “tea party guys” suicide bombers

Shameless

[Steve] RATTNER: You know, the problem with this is it’s like a form of economic terrorism. I imagine these Tea Party guys are like strapped with dynamite, standing in the middle of Times Square at rush hour and saying, ‘either you do it my way, or we’re going to blow you up, ourselves up, and the whole country up with us.’ So you tell me how those kinds of standoffs end.

Sounds like Will has a better grasp of what Rattner said that morning, dontcha think? But I again digress:

WILL: Anyway, what you, you do know that 95 House Democrats voted against raising the debt ceiling as compared to only 66 House Republicans. You do know that 26 Democratic Senators voted against raising the debt ceiling?

Indeed.

What liberals like Rattner have totally ignored was that if interfering with an agreement to raise the debt ceiling was an act of terrorism, Democrats in both chambers of Congress were far more guilty than Republicans.

Alas, one would have to be an impartial journalist to figure that out, and such a thing really doesn’t exist anymore – certainly not on MSNBC where Rattner contributes.
