Change we can believe in….but just not right now

When I said ‘change we can believe in,’ I didn’t say ‘change we could believe in tomorrow.’ Not change we can believe in next week. We knew this was going to take time because we’ve got this big, messy, tough democracy,” President Obama said at a campaign fundraiser in Chicago on Wednesday night.

Now he’s blaming the democracy itself for his failures.

FAA funding restored – Senate will approve House bill Friday by unanimous consent

Top US Senate Democrat Harry Reid announced Thursday that polarized lawmakers had reached a stopgap deal to end a costly row that has shut airport construction and halted tax payments by airlines.

“I am pleased to announce that we have been able to broker a bipartisan compromise between the House and the Senate to put 74,000 transportation and construction workers back to work,” Reid said in a statement.

“This agreement does not resolve the important differences that still remain. But I believe we should keep Americans working while Congress settles its differences, and this agreement will do exactly that.”

And what is the big deal Harry Reid is talking about?

Under the accord, the Senate will pass the House version of the legislation on Friday, setting up a fresh fight on the issue in mid-September, officials said.

“We are pleased the Senate has agreed to pass the House-approved FAA extension tomorrow,” said a spokesman for Republican House Speaker John Boehner, Michael Steel.

Yep, just exactly what they could have done BEFORE they adjourned and left Washington.  And this after the Secretary of Transportation, Ray LeHood has been on tv waving his arms and ranting, something about being “held hostage.”  (New and original?  But then he’s a democrat.  They just say “hostage” without rhyme or reason.)

And this from NPR:

THE DEAL would allow the Senate to approve a House bill extending the FAA’s operating authority through mid-September, including a provision that eliminates $16.5 million in air service subsidies to 13 rural communities. A vote on the bill is expected Friday.

Republicans had insisted on the subsidy cuts as their price for restoring the FAA to full operation, but the cuts may become moot.

The bill includes language that gives the transportation secretary the authority to continue subsidized service to the 13 communities if he decides it’s necessary.

Democrats said they expect the White House to effectively waive or negate the cuts

So there you go — the democrat senate could have approved the house bill and sent it to the president for signature BEFORE THEY LEFT Washington for recess and avoided the whole mess.

But it is abundantly clear that the democrats are not going to allow any spending cuts if they can possibly prevent it.  They are adamant about this even as the stock market plunges over 500 points today.  Since the democrats have been in control of congress since 2006, this is why the debt has skyrocketed over the last few years.  And when efforts are made to reign them in, they kick and scream and get mad as old wet setting hens.  Constantly muttering:  Hostage.  Hostage.  Hostage.

Obama losing independents in Florida with 61% disapproval, Rubio gains 4 points

The post-debt deal poll shows little change in Obama’s May approval among Republicans and Democrats. But among independent voters he plummets from a 47 – 45 percent split in May to a 61 – 33 percent disapproval today.

http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x1297.xml?ReleaseID=1632

New Poll:

It was with independents where Obama took his biggest hit. Sixty-one percent of independents said they now disapprove of the president’s performance compared to 33 percent who approved. In May, 47 percent of the independents approved of Obama’s job performance compared to 45 percent who did not.

Obama wasn’t helped by the recent fight with Congress over raising the nation’s debt ceiling, the poll indicated.

Republican Senator Marco Rubio‘s approval rating jump four points (from 45 to 49 percent) after he voted against the debt deal.

Senator Rubio recently associated himself with the tea party in his address on the debt ceiling on the Senate floor.  See:  https://bellalu0.wordpress.com/2011/07/31/marco-rubio-freshman-fla-senator-telling-truth-on-debt/

And who acted in the best interest of the United State in the debt ceiling plan?

Total D, R, and I:  Obama 36 %, Boehner 33%, and Harry Reid only 11%.

Tax money to pay for Obama’s copy-cat bus tour

President Barack Obama’s upcoming bus tour through the Midwest states typically viewed as swing states during presidential election years will be paid for by the taxpayers, the White House says.

Obama will start the tour on Aug. 15 and will talk about strengthening jobs and the economy, the White House announced on Tuesday.

First he copies Sarah Palins bus tour, then he charges it to the taxpayers.

No matter how much he squawks about millionaires, billionaires and private jets, at the very least they are paying for whatever they do with THEIR OWN MONEY.

I’ll bet he’ll jet out to the midwest on Air Force One, climb on his bus for three days, then jet back to D. C.  But are not all his campaign trips and fund-raisers paid for by tax money?

Of course, everything from every sheet of paper and paperclip in Washington, D. C. is paid for by tax money.

And the democrats are all bent out of shape because the tea party wants to cut spending.

How do you like that NEW TONE?

I am observing this with my mouth open.  We are seeing and hearing the entire democratic regime go off the rails.  But democrats are always emboldened because they know the liberal media will cover for them.  But not only cover for them, they participate with them as though they all got together and decided the word(s) they would use.

Quotes from News Commentators:  http://dailycaller.com/2011/08/03/hostage-metaphor-is-liberal-commentators-new-talking-point/

Quotes from Lawmakers:  http://dailycaller.com/2011/08/03/hostage-metaphor-is-liberal-commentators-new-talking-point/2/

It is bad enough when people who are not in government name call and attack those who disagree with their view of the world, but when democrat members of congress can’t quit saying hostage, hostage, hostage, not only in press conferences but actually on the floor of the Senate and House, it just shows their lack of respect and ignorance.  It also shows they have no tolerance for ideas other than their own.

Bigot:  A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs.

And all because the American People sent to Washington some duly elected House and Senate members who can’t be bought and are not playing the Washington game, who will address the awful state of affairs our country is in.

It’s a little ironic that this is taking place around the time Gabby Gifford made her first appearance back in Washington after being shot in the head.  Even the president has been talking about republicans “holding a gun to the heads of Americans” only months after he lectured on the subject of civility in Tuscon.  And remember all that silliness about the republicans sitting with the democrats at the state of the union (which was designed solely for the purpose of the visual of a lot more republicans than demos in congress). https://bellalu0.wordpress.com/2011/01/15/sit-together-never/ and https://bellalu0.wordpress.com/2011/01/25/children-are-running-the-country/

If violent rhetoric actually causes violence, then there will be a massive amount of violence that comes from the way these democrats are speaking and reacting.

I really think this is coming across as disgusting to voters and there’s going be a great “clean out” in Washington come 2012 even greater than 2010.

America has got to get rid of these entrenched politicians like Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, and Steny Hoyer, et al.

They are going to eat these words they are spewing.
