Chris Wallace is a flake and a jackass

Michele Bachmann answered as follows when Chris Wallace asked her yesterday if she was a flake:

“Well, I think that would be insulting to say something like that because I’m a serious person,” Bachmann said. “[W]hat I would say is that I am 55 years old. I’ve been married 33 years. I’m not only a lawyer, I have a post-doctorate degree in federal tax law from William and Mary. I’ve worked in serious scholarship and in have worked in the Unites States federal tax court.

My husband and I have raised five kids and 23 foster children.

We’ve applied ourselves to education reform. We started a charter school for at-risk kids.

I’ve also been a state senator and a member of United States Congress for five years. I’ve been very active in our business.

As a job creator, I understand job creation. But also I’ve been leading actively the movement in Washington, D.C., with those who are affiliated with fiscal reform.

And you, Chris Wallace, what are you?  A jackass.

I see he has made an apology, so good for him.  He came off as unprofessional, ungentlemanly, and childish.  Maybe too much silly soup.

When reporting this, MSNBC, cut her statement after “federal tax court.”

Chris Wallace is married to Lorraine Smothers, the f0rmer wife of comedian Dick Smothers. She recently published a book entitled Mr. Sunday’s Soups with her soup recipes.

  1. Bella, I left this on Chickaboomer – the back story to “Are You A Flake”

Michelle Bachmann’s campaign manager Ed Rollins stated on MSNBC “That Sarah Palin Is Not A Serious Person” parroting an unnamed Romney aide. What did Michelle Bachmann, do about this disparaging comment toward Gov Sarah Palin? Not much, later she made Rollins apologize privately. But how long did that sound bite stay in the news cycle, and head the internet blogs? That was the Bachmann camp taking a swipe at Palin. Chris Wallace has interviewed Governor Sarah Palin many times – Sarah Palin is his fellow co-worker, at FNC, a contributor. Imus has joked with Wallace when he has interviewed Sarah Palin, that he was giving her too many soft ball questions – that he was surprized Palin wasn’t sitting in Wallace’s lap during the interview. If people listen to Wallace interviews, they would know he likes Sarah Palin. So when Michelle Bachmann showed up on his program, she got asked “Are You A Flake” LOL! That is now in the news cycle, and making the blog rounds. He apologized after it got saturation. Good on you Chris, you didn’t let Bachmann get away with disparging your co worker on a rival network. Wallace bitch slapped Bachmann, Priceless. And he takes down Jon Stewart for being a MSM apologist….what a posuer’ Wallace is on fire!

I think Ed Rollins is a big mistake. Can’t imagine why Bachmann employed him. I don’t think it is good for any of the conservative candidates to be put in a bad light. Just my take. I’m looking to the general – whoever can take down Obama is the one I want.

      • Bella,

It’s not going to be Bachmann, but she may do some damage before she’s done. I think she will line up behind whatever the Republican ticket turns out to be. But just her choice in campaign manager Ed Rollins is a big “tell” on her part. The rumor is she wants to be Romney’s VP. I don’t have a problem with her political ambitions. I have a problem with her going on the liberal propaganda wings and letting Rollins disparage another conservative Palin. To make cheap political points and help Romney out. Romney is not a Conservative he is a RINO, and if that is the band wagon Bachmann aspires to hitching herself up to, I am not interested in following a Romney/Bachmann parade.

Chis Wallace is playing the establishment butt-boy. He is a flake.

  2. Oh My Chris Wallace, is awake, and keeping score 🙂 According to Ed Rollins if Palin is compared to Bachmann, the voters will chose the intelligent woman….It’s as if MSNBC thought that FNC was going to let that slight to their FNC contributor Sarah Palin, go unchallenged not likely.

Michelle Bachmann is making herself the darling of CNN and MSNBC – that’s not where the eyeballs are turned to, and she needs to be able to appear on FNC. They are not going to appreciate “Bachmann” taking shots at their co worker on rival networks. I don’t believe that Rollins had to this date apologized publicly to Sarah Palin for his comment.

Bella, there is more going on here than Chris Wallace being in artful. There have been rumors that Bachmann is Romney’s stalking horse. If Palin get’s in the race Romney’s in big trouble. Bachmann is hoping to be his VP? Bachmann isn’t going to be the next President of the U.S. it’s been over 150 years? since we elected anyone from the House of Representatives to the Presidency. Bachmann’s campaign manager used exactly the same sound bite that the unnamed Romney aid made about Sarah Palin “Palin isn’t a serious person”

This is why Chris Wallace asked Michelle Bachmann “Are you a Flake”

Sarah Palin’s chief of staff blasted Michele Bachmann strategist Ed Rollins today after Rollins criticized the former Alaska governor and suggested to POLITICO that his candidate would benefit by comparison to her

“Beltway political strategist Ed Rollins has a long, long track record of taking high profile jobs and promptly sticking his foot in his mouth,” said Sarah PAC chief of staff Michael Glassner in an emailed statement. “To no one’s surprise he has done it again, while also fueling a contrived narrative about the presidential race by the mainstream media. One would expect that his woodshed moment is coming and that a retraction will be issued soon.”

Rollins, who had long been a public skeptic of Palin, told a radio host that the former governor was “not serious.”

Bachmann will “be so much more substantive,” Rollins said. “People are going to say, ‘I gotta make a choice and go with the intelligent woman.”’s every bit as attractive.’”

KJ, I’m not so sure Romney will be the nominee so Mr. Rollins may be steering Bachmann in the wrong direction. These establishment republicans are not to be trusted. Guys like Rollins and Rove have been around too long. And they are not getting a read on where the public is IMO. This is not the old days. Fact is, this is not 2008 even. They and those like them are the ones who tried to sabotage Palin.

      • Bella

Rollins has a terrible track record, and has been investigated in the past. I don’t think Bachmann is in it to win it. But she does expect to be a player. I think Rollins could hurt her aspirations. But it’s not like Bachmann hasn’t been inside the beltway for awhile, and knows about the sharp elbows of the old establishment Republicans.
