Obama: Oil spill has been “highest priority”

Day 37

“The American people should know that from the moment this disaster began, the federal government has been in charge of the response effort,” Obama said. He was reacting to criticism that his administration has been slow to act and has left BP in charge of plugging the leak.

Obama said many critics failed to realize “this has been our highest priority.”

“My job right now is just to make sure everybody in the Gulf understands: This is what I wake up to in the morning, and this is what I go to bed at night thinking about. The spill.”

Duke Day, earlier in the Rose Garden:

The team presented Mr. Obama with a framed Duke jersey.

“You know Reggie is going to make me hang this in the Oval Office. Take down Lincoln or something.”

But did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?

  1. Holy cow, the President spent five minutes doing a photo-op.
    Impeach him immediately!

    Ed Rendell:

“If Bill Clinton was president, he’d have been in a wetsuit, you know, trying to get down to see the spill,” the governor said with a laugh.

They are sending Clinton not Obama to Arkansas to stump for Blanch Lincoln…because Obama, Obama is sooo popular. You can just stretch the cult of personality so far the same short attention span it took that got him elected is the same short attention span that has already forgot why they voted for him in the first place.

Rendell is right Clinton is 10 times the Politician Obama will ever be….he is after all the first Black President LOL!

Ree, I just read they are including golf balls in whatever they are blasting into the hole. Maybe Obama will be a little more interested if he thinks he might be able to play a little golf down there. 🙂
