Time to stop blaming Bush, maybe we could get him back

This administration has from day one done nothing but cast blame on George Bush and the Bush Administration for any and everything that is going wrong.

Now even as late as yesterday, one full year into the Obama Administration, President Obama comes out and says there is a failure in the system “that has been in place now for years.”  He should have already changed it then.  He also said, “the information was not effectively dissiminated in order to get him on a no fly list.”  Well, I do believe Bush is in Texas, long since having returned to civilian life, so I don’t think he had anything to do with that.

Bush is like the phantom “Marsha” who comes in and messes up everything overnight.

Of course, Janet came out and said the “system worked” and we should be proud, but as soon as it became clear that many warnings were ignored, dots were not connected, balls were dropped, the system suddenly became somebody elses fault.   But I have to say that if he keeps working at it, he may become more and more like George Bush, which could only be a massive improvement.

When planes hit the buildings on 9/11 nobody had even conceived in their wildest imagination that this could happen, but now that we know how intent on killing us these people are, there is no excuse for the lax treatment of the issue this administration is giving it.

And even after the Ft. Hood massacre, Obama says we don’t want to jump to conclusions.  Jump to conclusions?  How much does it take for him to recognize reality.

It’s time Barack Obama stopped acting like a child saying “he did it first, it’s all his fault,” the type manipulation any decent parent would not allow their children to engage in.  But then maybe that’s all he’s got.

He’s had plenty of time to change anything he thought was wrong with the system, but in fact the only change he has made is to weaken not strengthen defenses George Bush had in place.  And even the best of systems require use of the system, adding information and up-dating it daily.  He is trying to release terrorists, not stop them.  He is still calling it a “lone extremist” and I am sure we are the laughing stock of al Qaida.  And he wants to bring terrorists to New York City to try them as common criminals, giving them constitutional rights that should be for U. S. citizens, not the enemies of our country and our constitution.

And what do we do?  The first thing done is this panty bomber gets assigned a lawyer who shuts him up.  So instead of trying to get him to talk and tell us if there are other planes in the sky ready to blow up, or trying to thwart any other plans in progress, we start giving him pain medication and planning his skin grafts.

Obama has been all over the world bowing and kowtowing to kings and princes instead of taking care of his number one responsibility, the safety of the American people. But then he considers about half of us to be bigger enemies than the terrorists.  Got to watch all these ex-military and tea party protesters, they may become radical or something.

And he can’t even be bothered to come off the golf course, just as he thought it was more important to give a “shout out” before he addressed the Ft. Hood killings, treating it almost as an afterthought.  No hearings on that yet.

And he still has about four more days in Hawaii.  And to top that off, the vice president is also off shore in the Virgin Islands.  You would almost think they are getting off the mainland in case the whole thing blows up.

How does it make you feel to know that the president and the vice president have both left the land mass known as the United States of America and are on tropical islands somewhere during what could be an attack or threat to the country?  Doesn’t make me feel too safe.  I would say it doesn’t matter, they can just stay where they are forever, but then that would mean that Nancy Pelosi would be in charge.  Think about it.  Our lives are in the hands of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and in the alternative, Nancy Pelosi.

God help us.  Could we just get a recount?  Maybe we could get lucky and John McCain won after all.

UPDATE: Believe it or not, Nancy Pelosi is also in Hawaii.. Can’t make it up.

Should we provide panty bomber with skin grafts? (Poll)

Farouk Umar Abdul Mutallab was arraigned Saturday afternoon in University Hospital, Ann Arbor. He is charged with attempting to destroy an aircraft and was injured.

Doctors said he may need skin grafts as a result of burns he suffered allegedly attempting to ignite the explosive device.

Seems he got a bit of a burn.  I wonder if these are “alleged” burns.

**Should Americans pay for any specialty burn care to a TERRORIST that was burned from his own detonator meant to kill hundreds of people headed to the United States?

Why Can’t Every Day Be Like Christmas by Elvis

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9)

Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2).

Jesus is the Reason for the Season.  Merry Christmas All.

“Health care bill really is called Service Members Home Ownership Tax Act (Updated)

This is the bill that is being voted on in the Senate now as I type this on December 23, 2009.  The Speaker just called the name of it.

It’s not even called a health care bill.

It’s called:

H.R. 3590

Service Members Home Ownership Tax Act of 2009

and here’s an overview of the bill that was sponsored by Charles Rangel.

“H.R. 3590 would modify the first-time homebuyers’ tax credit for Armed Forces members, as well as Foreign Service and Intelligence Community employees on extended duty. The bill would waive recapture of the credit for qualifying individuals who must sell a residence after December 31, 2008, due to government orders for extended duty.

H.R. 3590 also extends the tax credit for taxpayers who serve on duty outside of the U.S. for at least 90 days in 2009, and who purchase homes before December 1, 2010. Qualifying taxpayers would also be permitted to treat a purchase made between December 31, 2009, and July 1, 2010, as a purchase made in a prior year for tax purposes. The extension would apply to residences purchased after November 30, 2009.

To offset the cost of the legislation, the bill increases the penalties for failure to file a partnership or S-corporation return from $89 to $110, beginning in taxable years following December 31, 2009. H.R. 3590 also increases by half percentage point-to 100.75 percent-the amount of any required installment of corporate estimated tax which is otherwise due in July, August, or September 2014.”

They keep calling it a health care bill.  What in the world does this have to do with health care?  This is just too much monkey business.  It appears the Senate amended the bill by 99 percent.  Why they didn’t start out with a bill entitled correctly I’ll never know.

OpenCongress.org reports that this bill is being used as the vehicle for the Senate’s health care bill.

Updated:  It appears that the name was changed upon the vote on December 24th. When it arrived at the Senate from the House, it contained some 970 words.  It went to 353,530 words and the title was changed to read “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.”

You can read the full text of the bill here, as well as chart its path from the House of Representatives to its passage in the Senate.  There’s also a place to vote approval or disapproval of the bill.  It stands at 24 % approval.

Creepy White House Christmas Decorations

Say it ain’t so.  I so hope this is not true.

Why let a holiday season come between the White House and making some political statements? The White House pegged controversial designer Simon Doonan to oversee the Christmas decorations for the White House. Mr. Doonan, who is creative director of Barney’s New York has often caused a stir with his design choices. Like his naughty yuletide window display of Margaret Thatcher as a dowdy dominatrix and Dan Quayle as a ventriloquist’s dummy. For this year’s White House, he didn’t disappoint.

White House Christmas tree. = See pictures of the ornaments.

I do believe it is for real.  I think it was first announced that there would be no Christmas tree as is customary.  It would have been better not to even have one than this.

It’s a Harry, Harry Christmas this year

Harry Reid is on the floor of the Senate pompously invoking Rodney King and saying we should remember the season and “all just get along.”

“Because of the long hours we’ve spent here, for weeks now there’s a lot of tension in the Senate,” Reid said. He invoked Rodney King in asking lawmakers “let’s just all try to get along,” adding that he hoped senators would “go back to their gentlemanly ways.”

He goes on to say:

“For those of the Christian faith, we have the most important holiday and that is Christmas and I hope everyone will keep in mind that that’s a time when we reflect on peace and the good things in life and I hope everybody will set aside personal animosity if they have any and focus on that holiday.”

So he is invoking Rodney King and Christ for his own personal agenda, true hypocrite that he is.  How sickening, when he is the one who scheduled this thing to be right up until Christmas Eve.  See the whole thing here on a CSPAN video:

http://www.c-span.org/Watch/Media/2009/12/22/HP/A/27632/Senate+Floor+Debate+on+Health+Care+Leaders+Discuss+Agreements.aspx

A short excerpt below:

Yesterday, President Obama said he wanted everybody to stop “carping” about the cost of the proposed health care bill.

Is there a common theme here?  Yeah – they want everybody to just shut the hell up and let this thing pass.

Well, I have a suggestion for Harry:  In honor of the Christmas Season, why don’t you just shut down the Senate so everybody can go home and spend the time with their families.  That would go a long way in “getting along” and then you can come back next year and take up your rape of the American people.  Because YOU are the one who set this controversial bill to be voted on before Christmas, and I guess President Obama, and YOU are the one who negotiated the votes behind closed doors.  Maybe you could honor the Christmas Season by doing away with bribes and corruption under your leadership.

I actually heard a democrat say, oh, this is the way we do it, this is the way we legislate.  I don’t doubt it.  But it’s a matter of the degree of corruption and deception and lying and jiggling the figures around for the desired outcome that is being exposed.  Maybe it’s always been done that way.  Then it’s time it stopped.  The spotlight is on this and the people are watching you.  Maybe we more or less trusted you to do business in an honest way.  That was a mistake and that was stupid of us.

And so what was supposed to be the most transparent administration in history has turned out to be the most secretive and the most corrupt administration in history.

There’s still time to defeat this bill.  It’s not over yet.  Keep fighting, maybe there is at least one honorable democrat in Washington.

I just heard that some democrat in the House is changing parties.  http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_congress_party_switch

And all in Washington are wishing each other a Harry, Harry Christmas.  🙂

See this blog for another take.
