One Nation Under God

America was founded on the principles set out in the Bible. It is God who has endowed us with the rights we have, not any man or government.

All states’ Constitutions mention God.

Florida, originally from 1845, contains in its preamble a statement of gratitude to God:“We, the people of the State of Florida, being grateful to Almighty God for our constitutional liberty, in order to secure its benefits, perfect our government, insure domestic tranquility, maintain public order, and guarantee equal civil and political rights to all, ordain and establish this constitution.”

See all the states here.

I believe that America is a Christian country, and because we are a Christian country, we have respect for other religions and for those with no religion.  I’m sick and tired of hearing about how we are no longer a Christian nation,(or never were), because we are and we better hope and pray we stay that way.

Christ has said “come unto me, all who are weary and heavy-laden.” He stands with his arms outstretched and he continually knocks on the heart’s door that opens only from the inside.  Nobody is required to be a Christian.  It’s an invitation and a privilege.  But that does not mean that we have to become like any other religion or to become as an atheist with no signs of our faith.

We Do Not have to strip evidence of Christianity from our lives and especially now at Christmas time.  Christmas is a Christian holiday, in case that’s not obvious, so anyone who does not want to celebrate it, just don’t. But Christians should be able to celebrate it any way we want to.  I usually remain silent on my faith, but I’m going to stand up for it as it is being threatened at every hand.

So just leave the mangers alone, damn it.  (And the crosses, too.)

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Merry Christmas
