Just don’t “jump to any conclusions.”
David Gergen [CNN], Jon Meacham [Newswek], Howard Fineman [Newsweek/NBC], Mike Allen [Politico], Josh Marshall [Talking Points Memo], David Brooks [NYT], and Gail Collins [NYT] had an off the record lunch with the president today. Also: Mara Liasson, who works for NPR and the Fox News Channel that Obama wants to destroy. (Gawker.) No connection at all to softball articles such as this from Newsweek trying to make excuses for Traitor Hasan.
Our president lunching with the media as we mourn the murder of American soldiers, executed by an Army Major, Coward, Traitor, and Terrorist.
He later in the afternoon made a visit to Walter Reid Army Hospital, his first visit there since becoming president. (No photos were allowed because he “wanted it to be private.”) Completely unrelated, I’m sure, to this Tone Deaf Moment.
See RBO for a video of the initial speech – the entire video – because what I have seen on tv has been cut down to eliminate the inappropriate jabbering before he finally even got to the Ft. Hood Massacre.
UPDATE: RBO has a few more names of the attendees of the presidential luncheon meeting with the press.
POTUS emerged gloomily to warn not to jump to conclusions about Ft. Hood (above) [see video at RBO] following his afternoon off-the-record luncheon with the Washington elite journalism, CNN’s David Gergen, Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza, Newsweek’s Jon Meacham and Howard Fineman, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Cynthia Tucker, POLITICO’s Mike Allen, NPR/ Fox’s Mara Liasson, Talking Points Memo’s Josh Marshall and New York Times trio David Brooks, Andy Rosenthal, and Gail Collins.
Also interesting to note that the following also attended:
David Axelrod, Anita Dunn, Bill Burton and Robert Gibbs also attended the journalism luncheon. [The Media Mafia]
