“You lie!” – Well, didn’t he?

The night’s defining moment — which Democrats hope to transform into a turning point – came when Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) shouted “You lie!” as Obama claimed his plan wouldn’t offer free care to illegal immigrants.

Well, Rep. Joe Wilson just went from unknown to the spotlight.  Look for character assassination from the White House and the MSM.

I say:  Just get over it.  He should be glad it’s not Britain.  He’s so impressed with European!

And I’m coming down on the side of Joe Wilson.  I don’t think Mr. Wilson should have apologized.  No. At. All. Now, to quote president Obama when he accused the police of acting stupidly, maybe he could have “calibrated his words differently.”  But I think he should get a medal for saying what a lot of us are thinking.  Especially after the president had just said something about others telling lies.  He doesn’t mind calling people liars if they dare to defy him, and bullying –   “I will call you out.”

Question:  Will illegal immigrants be covered?  Was that, in fact, a lie when POTUS said they would not?

I did notice that the uninsured just went from 47 million down to 30 million.  Did he lie the first 500 times he said there were 47 million?  You darn right he did, and the 30 million figure he is using is still not an accurate number.

It really was a horrible speech showing just how small and bitter he is.

See What He Said and What He Meant.

P. S. – How quickly we forget:

“”In 2004, Democrats delivered a “Chorus Of Boos” during Bush’s State Of The Union when he called for renewal of the Patriot Act., according to the Washington Times.

In 2005, Dems howled, hissed and shouted “No!” when Bush pushed for Social Security reform in the SOU:  “Foreshadowing the contentiousness of the coming debate, Democrats broke decorum and booed twice,” according to the National Journal.””

Nahhh, they won’t assassinate his character–he did that himself tonight. The real defining moment? That was when Obama got an ovation for saying that he didn’t want to put the insurance companies out of business, just hold em accountable–and no Republicans stood up. Classic case of not wanting to bite the hand that feeds them, eh?

I’m proud of my Rep for speaking what we were all thinking. What an awful speech – didnt’ speak to me for one second. He says he’ll do ‘test’ Tort reform which means no way will he do anything. He’s in bed with the trial lawyers. He also included the illegals in his number to be covered.

  3. The Tone was much better then they have used for a long time. I take that as an acknowledgment, that they know they are losing the Middle or Center folks, the Independents like me. I didn’t see any gain by taking shots at the Republicans.

So Obama’s Tone is moving to the middle but his Substance is still tied to the far left. Here are the three big hurdles he couldn’t jump over.

Delivery: we don’t need a radical government change to how we get our health care delivered to us, we certainly don’t need another bloated big government program especially right now.

Logistics: even if we believe him that illegals, said to be numbering around 10 million in this country, won’t be covered at American Taxpayer expense that leaves up to 37 million, they claim are chronically uninsured. How do you add 37 million people into a system without the medical infrastructure to service them? Logistics.

Cost: this is where I should have started if you can’t pay for this without piling on unsustainable debt to the national budget forget the whole thing. They can’t pay for this by cleaning up Government waste if the Government could remove waste from any of the entitlement programs they already had many, many opportunities. Remember these are the same folks who proposed and passed Porkulus Bill. So their definition of waste and our definition of waste are two different things.

There were some Constitutional questions about the penalty proposal for not buying health insurance. I am not sure the government can force anyone under the Constitution to buy health insurance. This is away to chip away at the Constitution and weaken it.

Van Jones did more damage to Obama than is being reported on.

Van Jones mentioned “The Third Wave of Progressivism” That he said we are experiencing right now, we are in the third wave.

When Obama told the Progressives he understood why they wanted a Public Option but basically stated he was open to other ideas to get to the same results. That’s code for we plant the time bomb in the budget for this health care reform, and the next Progressive wave will have to finish what we started “Changing the Country” This means in about 10 years (The Cost) of this thing will go off in our kids lives, and ours but it’s going to hurt them the most, they will be basically working to pay taxes. The size of our debt is so unrealistic it doesn’t matter how many times David Axelrod invokes George W Bush’s name – The cupboard is bare.

Obama’s TONE was much better if they were trying to reach the middle they hit the target with their TONE.

I was watching Bill O’Reilly joking with David Axelrod and Axelrod was actually amusing. He told O’Reilly he was going to block off a weekend so they could go down to Cancun together LOL!

I don’t watch MSNBC but I suspect the coverage was something like- if you don’t worship the messiah, you are a racist. Sigh when will someone put MSNBC out of it’s misery?

This is long but well worth reading:

    *Subject:* “Throw the Bums Out”

Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes? He’s now 82 years old and has a new book,** ‘Where Have All The Leaders Gone**?’.** He says

‘Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder! We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, ‘Stay the course..’**
    **
Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned, ‘Titanic’. I’ll give you a sound bite: **’Throw all the bums out!’ **
    **
You might think I’m getting senile, that I’ve gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore..**
    **
The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs.. While we’re fiddling in Iraq , the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving ‘pom-poms’ instead of asking hard questions. That’s not the promise of the ‘ America ‘ my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I’ve had enough. How about you? **
    **
I’ll go a step further. You can’t call yourself a patriot if you’re not outraged. This is a fight I’m ready and willing to have. The Biggest ‘C’ is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C’s of leadership, with crisis being the first.)**

    **
Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It’s easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory. Or send someone else’s kids off to war when you’ve never seen a battlefield yourself. It’s another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.**
    **
On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A hell of a mess, so here’s where we stand.**
    **
We’re immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving. **
    **
Obama is running the biggest deficit in the history of the country. **
    **
We’re losing the manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs. **
    **
Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are in trouble due to poor leadership in school districts. **
    *
Our borders are like sieves. **
    **
The middle class is being squeezed every which way. **
    *
These are times that cry out for leadership.**
    **
But when you look around, you’ve got to ask: ‘Where have all the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.**
    *
Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?**
    **
We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.**
    *
Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a single day evaluating the response to the hurricane or demanding accountability for the decisions that were made in the crucial hours after the storm. **
    **
Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it doesn’t happen again. Now, that’s just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you’re going to do the next time.**
    **
Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’ referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it?**
    **
Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry. **
    **
I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn’t elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on NBC news or CNN news will call them a name?
Give me a break. Why don’t you guys show some spine for a change?**
Had Enough? Hey, I’m not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I’m trying to light a fire. I’m speaking out because I have hope – I believe in America . In my lifetime, I’ve had the privilege of living through some of America ‘s greatest moments. I’ve also experienced some of our worst crises:
The ‘Great Depression,’ ‘World War II,’ the ‘Korean War,’ the ‘Kennedy Assassination,’ the ‘Vietnam War,’ the 1970’s oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11.**
**If I’ve learned one thing, it’s this: ‘You don’t get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it’s building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. * *Only a few people in the US know you elected a illegal alien to be President! A Muslim at that! And he jumped* *right in destroying the US from the inside. Osama bin Laden is smiling from ear to ear because he is winning the war on terror and you helped by voting his man in as President!* *That’s the challenge I’m raising in this book. It’s a “Call to Action” for people who, like me, believe in America ‘. It’s not too late, but it’s getting pretty close. So let’s shake off the crap and go to work. Let’s tell ’em all we’ve had ‘enough.’*

Mel…Amen and again, Amen! You are the first person to mention the fact (besides me) that our president is an illegal alien! That puts our military in a really BAD place. If they follow the orders of an inellegible president, they can be court marshalled! And ‘bama has hired thousands of law firms across the country to work on his behalf to keep all his records from the birth certificate to his shcool records away from the public. And so far, they are succeeding. The American people not only have to fight the unhinged taxing and this health care plan that will fine a person for not having it, while the government is exempt from having to have it…and the biggest and worst thing about our president is still being concealed…and that is he is inellegible to be in the White House and giving orders to our militarty! The main stream media is doing every thing in it’s power to kill this knowlege before it can be well known. What needs to be done is to have a march on DC like this one (wasn’t it great?!) to demand that ‘bama shows us his records and to prove once and for all that he either is…or is not…an American born citizen! They investigated McCain for his elegiblility when he was running for president, but totally ignored even asking Obama. The left liberals told that dingbat, Howard Dean, that he had better check into Obama’s background before nominating him for the DNC candidate. But it was not done, and now that Obama is spending MILLIONS, (and where is this money coming from, I wonder?) to keep his very identity secret from the people whom he is ‘leading’, he seems to think he can continue to do so. And he will be able to continue this charade as long as most of the American people remain largly ignorant of the facts. We can thank our very own main stream media for continuing to keep this fact buried. I am astounded by how many people who truely do not have any knowlege of Obama’s actual birthplace being Mombasa, Kenya, Africa. Especially when it is a WELL KNOWN FACT IN MOMBASA THAT SOMEONE WHO IS AFRICAN BY BIRTH IS NOW RUNNING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! He is a hero and an icon in Kenya…one of their own runs the USA! Yet, most Americans are led to believe that the Secretaries of State did their jobs in vetting Obama, making sure, as they did with McCain, that he was indeed eligable as an American born citizen, to be our president. People need to be aware that not only is Obama inelegible to be our Commander in Chief, but that he is also an illegal immagrant! Spread the word! The American people have to rise up like they have against the spending and the taxing and the health care reform and DEMAND THAT OBAMA SHOW HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND HIS SCHOOL RECORDS, just like every president before him has had to do. We Americans truly have had enough, and it’s up to we Americans to revolt, if we have to, to get some honest answers about this person Obama/Soetoro.
