Today, May 14, 2009, in the State of New Mexico, the following comments were made:
“The current deficit spending is “unsustainable,” and warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.”
“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China. We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.” Barack Obama
Huh? And who made the above statement? A crazed “tea bagger,” an equally crazed Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh? Or maybe it was Newt Gingrich, Govenor Perry of Texas, or even Sarah Palin?
Nah. It’s another “you just can’t make it up” moment.
Because after pushing through more spending in 100 days than in the history of the United States of America, President Barack Obama made the above comments at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque (May 14, 2009).
So President Obama is saying, you know what, I admit the tea baggers are right. We are mortgaging our kids future. Meanwhile he is pushing a massive healthcare plan through congress. How dumb does he think the public is? Answer: Pretty damm dumb.
It’s unbelievable. Just un. be. lievable.
He made the statements during the boy/girl, boy/girl question and answer session. A full transcript can be found Here.
