Obama Signed into law today a $5.7 BILLION dollar bill funding a civilian national security force or national service program that triples the size of the AmeriCorps, and he says it is only the beginning.
“What this legislation does, then, is to help harness this patriotism and connect deeds to needs,” said Obama, a former community organizer in Chicago.”
“And it is just the beginning of a sustained, collaborative and focused effort to involve our greatest resource — our citizens — in the work of remaking this nation.”
First off, who said the nation needed remaking? There’s always need for improvement but I don’t believe it needs remaking.
Secondly, why is it going to cost so much? It’s just another drop in the bucket compared to what is to come to reach the funding of the military, but it’s a darn good start.
Obama, in July during his campaign, had called for a civilian national security force saying it should be just as powerful and well-funded as the U.S. military.
*And everybody is just clap, clap, clapping*
Notice, once again, it’s all about Obama. They are all dressed in combat fatigues, but the United States of America is not once mentioned. Chilling.
