On February 27th, 2009, Orlando, in conjunction with 50 cities across the country, joined in the very first Orlando Tea Party. A crowd of 150 patriots gathered to protest in Orlando, while 30,000 gathered across the country, all furious with the bailouts and out-of-control spending going on in Washington.
On Saturday, March 21st, 2009, Orlando’s second Tea Party took place with over 5,000. Orlando Tea Party.com.
Note: No connection whatsoever to the ACORN supported rally in Connecticut or any other place, harassing people at their homes. I read there was more media there than protesters. Why did CNN cover the 40 and not the 5,000?
I don’t care how much I oppose the AIG bailouts — and the bailouts in general — including the one done during the Bush Administration, in my opinion, it is wrong to hold protests at their homes and hold a bus tour through the neighborhood. There’s a big difference between holding a peaceful protest in a public place and going so far as to try to go to the doors of private citizens, and riding through their neighborhoods on a “tour bus,” not even if they are AIG executives.
