Blago is out, done, impeached – Cheers for Blago.

Well, Blagojevich has been duly impeached.  He did not go down without a fight.  This is what I would say, if I were this good with words. I’m not, so I’ll just link to it.

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich delivers his closing statement at his impeachment trial in Springfield. “Is it the right precedent to set to take a gov twice elected and throw him out of office when you’re not able to prove criminal allegations?” Blagojevich asked. ‘The ends don’t justify the means. An improper impeachment not based on evidence are improper ends do not justifying the means.

I’ll just echo the words: Bravo, Blago, Bravo!!!

Obama: Do as I say, Not as I do

Remember this?

Pitching his message to Oregon’s environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to “lead by example” on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

But that was then.  And this is now.  The Bush rule of jackets in the Oval Office has been scraped by our new president:

oval-office

“The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

Isn’t it just like a liberal.  Tells you to turn your thermostat down, but I will turn my thermostat up so high “you can grow orchids” in the room.

Typical hypocrisy and double standard.

THANK YOU, House Republicans

WASHINGTON – In a swift victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House approved a historically huge $819 billion stimulus bill Wednesday night with spending increases and tax cuts at the heart of the young administration’s plan to revive a badly ailing economy.

The vote was 244-188, with Republicans unanimous in opposition despite Obama’s pleas for bipartisan support. Eleven Democrats voted against the measure, while no Republicans supported it.

Borrowed money, all, with interest!!  Thank you, House Republicans, for voting against this.  The democrats own this one lock, stock, and barrel.

Of the Democrats, 11 voted against the measure. Among them: Allen Boyd, D-Fla., Bobby Bright, D-Ala., Jim Cooper, D-Tenn., Brad Ellsworth, D-Ind., Parker Griffith, D-Ala., Paul Kanjorski, D-Penn., Frank M. Kratovil, D-Md., Walt Minnick, D-Idaho, John E. Peterson, D-Penn., Heath Shuler, D-N.C., and Gene Taylor, D-Miss.

Too bad there was not more bi-partisanship on the part of the democrats.  Then maybe a more reasonable, pork-free bill could have been passed.
