A Jacksonville promotions company plans to sell a doll as a tribute to slain toddler Caylee Marie Anthony.

The Inspirational Caylee Sunshine Doll will go on sale Tuesday for $29.99.

The blonde-haired, 18-inch doll wears jeans and a T-shirt depicting a sun and the phrase: “CAYLEE SUNSHINE.” The song “You Are My Sunshine” plays when her belly button is pushed.

Geithner confirmed as secretary of the treasury (Update)

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Senate has confirmed New York Fed chief Timothy Geithner to be President Barack Obama’s secretary of the treasury (and head up the IRS).

The 60-34 vote puts Geithner at the helm of Obama’s plan to rescue the economy from the worst financial crisis in three generations. It also dislodges one of Obama’s most troubled nominations.

Some senators were concerned that Geithner, who would oversee the Internal Revenue Service, did not pay all of taxes until he had been tapped to the president’s Cabinet. Geithner called it an unintentional oversight and settled his over $34,000 0verdue tax bill.

I’d like to get a list of the votes,** but some notable Republicans to oppose the nominee is moderate Republican Susan Collins. Other Republicans to announce their “no” votes today, included Chambliss, Inhofe, Thune, and Martinez.

Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) spoke on the floor against the confirmation.

Mr. Geithner not only didn’t pay his taxes according to law but he is the president of Federal Reserve Bank of New York and was the mastermind behind the first $700 billion bailout (TARP) – failure. I wonder if the reason he just has to be the Treasury Secretary is because of what someone else might find “buried” at the Treasury Department, as in, how did we get in this mess we’re in and that he can be trusted not to expose anyone?

He is going to be sworn in right away, as in a matter of seconds!

This is pretty disgraceful.

UPDATE:**

votingroll

Thanks to Michelle Malkin for the voting list.  She has a video on her site of Senator Inhofe of Okalahoma who states the case for a NO vote very well.

MSNBC, king of pro-Obama bias, trying to get some cred?

On Meet the Press Sunday, David Gregory was asked:

“Do you think the “in the tank” criticism that was leveled at MSNBC was fair?”

Gregory: “We have opinionated people on MSNBC in that role in primetime. I don’t think that is a systemic point of view. NBC News as an organization is not influenced by those passionate, opinionated people that we have on the air…..”

Huh?  Who do you think you are kidding, Mr. Gregory?

Chickaboomer has more on the subject and a “lovely” photo of MSNBC big mouths that will bring a smile, if not a chuckle.

Blago skipping trial, doing media blitz instead

TVNewser reports that:

Rod Blagojevich has added Fox to his media blitz. “Insiders tell us Blagojevich will be interviewed in-studio by Geraldo Rivera tomorrow afternoon at 2pmET.”

ABC announced Friday that the network had snared the first Blago interview, but that was before he went to NBC. Blagojevich sat down with NBC’s Amy Robach for an interview airing on Sunday’s “Today” and “NBC Nightly News.”

Skipping his trial on Monday, he will appear live on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “The View” — the latter with his wife, Patti. Then, Monday night he’ll be taking calls on “Larry King Live.”

This video is so funny.  (Adult content that may be offensive to some.)
